low always comes on first but it's very easy to soft push low then click to high

From off is momentary (half press) hi beam?

From OFF... Half-press gives LOW. A quick release and another half-press gives HI.

Ordered one on sale to try it. Liked it so much, bought another one! It's very small, yet puts out a lot of bright light. Very handy on my work bench when I need a flashlight w/o holding onto a big bulky one. It can clip to a hat, or often times I hold it in my mouth to free up my hands. I keep the other one in the tray in the car for those random times I need a handy flashlight to look for something in the dark, or dropped under the seat. Highly recommend these handy little light!!!
