I am a typical man beginning to work out my forearms. Approximately how many times will I be able to flex these consecutively?

about 50 to 100 each arm. a few times a day.

Are these appropriate for a nine year old boy?

I'm not sure what you mean by "appropriate". Will a 9 year old boy be able to use these? I don't see why not.

Are they made from plastic or metal inside? I had plastic and they didn't last very long.

Its plastic but its pretty durable. I've had mine for about 2 years, using 3-4x a week
