0.75m Carbon Optical Toslink Fiber-Optic Cable + Mini-Adaptor

I recently replaced a discrete DAC and Naim NAIT 5i with a Supernait w integrated burr brown DAC. Lost fidelity, but I figured with the old DAC and good interconnects to the NAIT that something was wrong. always start with, what’s your weak link? The stupid OPTICAL cable 20 dollar amazon special. At the same time I replaced the same quality of HDMI cable with the Pangea Silver plated conductors....holy crap, immediately the soundstage opened up, detail emerged and focus clarified and front to back was about 60-70% better. This cable really seems dainty, but it’s performance sure isn’t. The 19 micro strands of the AQ carbon versus acrylic monofilament is extraordinary. Way to go, again AQ!!!!

I would defiantly try this out and see how much it improves your sound! It improves it by so much that I decided to buy Vodka to help with my sound quality for games like Xbox original and boy it sure does not disappoint.

I usually have great results with Audioquest cables but this one just didn't do it for me, at least in my system. As soon as I installed it between my digital transport and DAC, I noticed that the bass was extremely lean - too lean for my taste - and the leading edge of bass notes lost their definition. On the positive side, I felt the highs were pristine and extremely transparent, cymbals really shimmered and trumpets had a strong bite. If you're looking to tame a system that leans bass heavy, this cable could may work well but it just wasn't a match for my system. System this was used in: Naim Nait 50, Cambridge Audio MXN10, Chord Mojo 2 DAC, Diapason Micra loudspeakers.

First, the construction and appearance of this cable are wonderful. It feels well-made and sturdy. The length of 0.75m is welcome and fits my desk setup well. The cable tends to retain whatever shape it was packaged in, and the cable I received holds an odd shape (there is a stubborn U-shaped bend near one of the jacks). Whenever I listen to music, there will periodically be a hiccup in the audio. This should not be the case with any premium audio cable. I compared this to a reference optical cable made by Lifatec which did not have the hiccup. These factors made me consider returning the cable.

I was always told an optical cable is and optical cable. Those statements are false. I can audibly hear a difference between these and the 2 other $20-30 5 star rated cables I tried.

My basic Kabeldirekt cable is better by many levels. Inferior quality over basic cable - definitely not worth the extra premium cost.

Boy, am I glad I didn't step up to Vodka....considerably more $$$ and I can't imagine how much better you'd need for your dedicated 2 channel hi fi setup. My Audiolab transport is now sending a pristine digital file to my DAC, happy customer.
