Good packaged bulk geode set, but don't expect perfection
I purchased 5 boxes (75 total geodes) to hand out as science project gifts for our cub scout pack. Do not expect all 15 geodes to be 2-3 inches. 2 of the 75 geodes were nickel sized and not anywhere close to the advertised 2-3 inches. Only a handful of the geodes are 3 inches, the vast majority are just over 2 inches. So this set is likely comparable to the other geode sets labeled (2-2.5 inches). Luckily, we only have 73 scouts in our pack and that none of the geodes came pre-broken, phew! The instructional cards were a nice touch. 4 of the 5 boxes came with 15 smaller blue instruction cards. The larger white instruction card (each box came with one) provides nice background information about geode types, formations, and locations. Two final comments, the safety goggles come pre-packaged (nice touch), but the "canvas" bag is actually cloth.Again this is a good set at a great price, as geodes this size typically retail for $4.99 each, and might not include all the extras. If you need exactly 15 geodes, buy an extra set!

Kinda boring for the kids..
It's a shame it is all clear quartz with no color variation... also in all the geode s not even a hint of a mature crystal...I split the bag between my 2 kids 10&12 yr. Olds.. by the 2nd slice a piece they had completely lost interest.. well.. because it wasn't that interesting lol... not a good start trying to turn them into rock hounds lol.. like taking them fishing for the first time and after hours of sitting they catch one small sunfish.. back to the drawing board
