Chatelet Air 2.0, 26 Inch Checked-Trunk Luggage, Angora

This is the first time I've ever had a handle do this I am hoping that the warranty will cover it especially for a name brand like this and the price that I paid I think it's only going to get worse with time and the only thing I can think is this is the handle where my hand goes when I pull the suitcase and it's just getting worn mind you I don't use this suitcase often as I rarely take trips requiring a suitcase of this size I wanted to warn others and see if anyone else has had the same problem. This is now my third try at finding the perfect suitcase I have returned two others to Amazon and I returned two others that I bought at Marshalls. I was beginning to give up currently my two large suitcases are soft sided and that just does not work. Once you load them up the weight distribution makes it almost impossible to push it down a long carpeted hotel hallway. Those were made by Samsonite and I've used them for a couple of years and I suppose the airlines have screwed up the wheels. So this time I decided to try a larger size suitcase and hard. I was very satisfied with my 21-in Delsey Chatelet. But I was not sure if I was ready to spend this much money. But if it means spending more than what I did on the other suitcases to make it easier at the airport and going from the car to the hotel and returning then I decided to try this suitcase. I also had never had a trunk before and I realized once I unpacked it tonight why it's perfect because it is narrower than my other suitcase this size and when you are trying to fit it in the trunk of a rental car or the back seat of a car oftentimes it's the width of the suitcase that causes the problem and you can't stand it up on the side because then it's too tall and you can't make it fit in the trunk or see you in the rear view mirror.. why didn't I think of this before the narrower design. But even better what I like about this is the zipper is not in the middle I would say you have the bottom which is about 2/3 and then the top which is the other third which is better for me the way I pack. Both sides have complete closure with zippers so that when you open up the suitcase nothing is flying around. If you're not picky about which color you choose I noticed that the different colors sometimes have vastly different prices. For example I bought this in brown but the 21 inch I bought in the ivory. Lastly I cannot say enough good things about the wheels smooth turning forwards backwards everything about this suitcase is perfect so far I will update this review once I take a trip.

I first bought a Delsey luggage set while in Italy in 2022 when one of the luggages I had brought on the trip had one of the wheels caved in. I loved the Delsey appearance and quality so much that I bought this ala cart Delsey luggage set for my wife. The double wheels are very sturdy and roll smoothly. The zippers are heavy duty and the appearance is very classy. Shown in the picture are the 28 inch Checked Luggage, 26 inch Trunk, and the 19 inch Carry On. Because the 28 inch does not expand, I went with the 26 inch Trunk which was larger than the standard 24 inch to make up the space. You really can’t go wrong with any of them. But it’s not going to stay white for long you say. Well I then bought clear plastic luggage covers for the 28 and 26 to protect the white finish from scratches and marks which will definitely extend the cosmetic appearance of them. Definitely Recommend!

*update! I also bought the carry-on plus size and it fits/nests inside the trunk size! Yay! I was afraid it would not nest because the trunk is an odd size, but it fits entirely inside and zips up for easy storage. I have been debating if I wanted the traditional medium or the trunk medium and finally decided on the trunk medium. It is bigger than I was expecting which I love. One side is much deeper (like 80%ish) and the other side is shallow (20%ish) both interior sides are full zippered. Also the exterior bag zipper feels super strong, I’ve never seen a double zipper before, what a great idea. I always worry about my bag zipper popping open and my clothes going everywhere but not with this bag! When I put this bag next to my Samsonite large bag it’s about an inch shorter and 3 inches less across but thicker by about 3 inches. So it’s less wide but thicker, a skinnier from the front but fatter from the side rectangle than traditional bags. Overall the quality seems great and I love the unique old school vibe. What sold me on the trunk style is finally being able to use the stands that hotel rooms provide!! I also got the matching backpack which is great. This bag is tall so the nesting feature with the backpack doesn’t leave much handle (see pics), but not a big deal for me. This will be so easy to spot on the luggage carousel.

Delsey luggage is amazing! In two short weeks it survived 6 flights, 6 different airports, and various cobblestone sidewalks in Europe. I did purchase a luggage cover to help protect it. The wheels are so smooth. It rolls like a dream on sidewalks, tile, carpet, everywhere! The Delsey trunk carried everything I needed for a 2-week vacation that included a wedding and two other formal events. The double zipper is so strong that I didn't have any concerns about someone busting in it. The TSA lock works great too. It does take a little getting used to, and the corner can be a little tricky, but just remember to align the top and bottom and it's a breeze. You can definitely tell the difference in quality with this luggage when compared to what I previously used. I was so impressed that I purchased the small carry-on and the medium check-in as well.

Love this for its size, depth and design! It carries a lot with so much room for more! It’s quite pricey though but Delsey has been a trusted company over the years and have no regrets investing in this beautiful piece! Will definitely buy other sizes!
