Terrific
I found this on a deal for my son who is getting into programming and is already into PC Gaming. This thing runs every game we have at a high level. I can say a million things about frame rates and picture quality, but I’ll just say I recommend this product to anyone looking for a gaming Laptop that runs the current generation of games like it’s nothing.

Dang you Alienware, back to gaming nights…
Well I completely lied to myself when I said that this laptop going to be for my oldest son because you know I’m sophisticated business professional who doesn’t have time for WOW. Boy was I wrong. So I turned it on, linked to our family google account and figured why don’t I activate my world of Warcraft account for a bit, I will mess around Vanilla server, what can go wrong. Well 12 hours later it was 5 am and my brain was still awake because you just forget how long you been playing on machine like that. Why did I get? 66 fps no lagging and pvp was smooth as it can be. For the Alliance! Yes nailed some horde to the wall and enjoyed clarity of the screen in that moment. My wonderful husband was assisting me on his alienware laptop right next to me in the couch. So what can I tell you if you gamer just like us? It is better than predator in my opinion, specs I got make me want to play non stop and it’s thinner and designed well. What the concerns? Well it’s noisy but if you playing without headset you probably doing it wrong because I talk smack online. By the way sound is really great. Now, it’s getting hot, I mean I got marks on my lap so I definitely recommend cooling pad. So here I’m back at it, don’t regret it for a minute because this laptop performing fantastic. This shadow Priest approves it 100%

Horrible Laptop
Ordered item directly through Dell on their website. Item arrived with corrupted and outdated drivers and software extremely out of date. I have spent hours trying to fix everything Dell did wrong, but there's a new issue every time I think something is fixed. Sometimes keys will not work, the trac-pad does not work hardly at all, action center stopped working, apps will not launch, apps crash randomly, the list goes on. Conveniently, Dell does not allow public reviews of their products on their website. It is "invite only" using an app pre-installed on the device (that does not work) and their customer service is non-existent. This laptop is one of the worst I have ever come across. Do not waste your money.

Alienware X15 R2 Gaming Laptop
The laptop itself is a little heavier than my previous laptop. Heavy but sturdy. Setup was pretty straight forward with easy to follow prompts. Laptop looks and feels high end. I was almost afraid to touch, still am if I'm honest. Not because it feels fragile, but because I want to keep it brand new. I was able to personalize settings, lights, keyboard to my liking. There is a decent amount of presets if you don't want to mess with personalization. I was able to get into my xbox account with ease. I did struggle for a few minutes to get my wireless controller to connect via BT, but I got it after a few minutes. Connection has been an issue since the initial Bluetooth connection. Response time and refreshing has been great. I haven't noticed any lagging and controls are immediate. I'm able to quickly load and change games. I do hear the fans, but nothing outrageous or too distracting. If you use headphones you probably won't even notice. I have noticed the fans running while just doing minimal work on laptop, like said review. The display and clarity has blown me away. The keyboard keys and pad are sleek, functional, and crisp. The buttons feel good under your finger tips. I'm in awe of this laptop. I can switch from netflix to game play without skipping a beat. Volume goes louder than what i'm comfortable hearing so thats good. Devices connect easy enough. Depending on what accessories you need/use, I'd say you might need a docking station. Some people are weird and don't like them, I myself find them more useful and keeps desk space more organized with everything able to be kept in one spot instead of cords coming out everywhere. All the ports are on the back, so depending on your setup, thats either good or annoying. For me, my main computer desk is very narrow, so I don't have a lot of space behind the laptop, which is why i like the docking station and able to have everything over to the side. Others might like keeping everything to the back and out of the way. Different strokes. Battery life is good. It does give warnings when battery is low on the Alien button, so that's a nice feature. I find myself having it plugged in more than my previous laptop, but I blame that on the constant updates it keeps doing. Every time I think I've gotten all the system updates done, it tells me I'm still missing important updates, with a small icon on the bottom of my screen. I haven't had any long gaming sessions yet, I've only been using about 3 weeks at this point, but I ran out of juice within about an hour and a half of gaming and needed to plug in. I'll update review with any new details or issues. I've attached a few pictures of laptop, some shots of the screen from my iphone, which probably don't do it justice, and showing my customization with colors. Overall my first impression is very impressed and please with this laptop. Its exceeded my expectations so far in performance. It looks and operates like a gaming laptop. The design is incredible and very eye catching. My kids were blown away by the lights and think its the coolest thing. I agree.

amazing gaming beast of a laptopk
This beast is amazing! I ran my usual games and they look so nice and smooth. I'm sure Skyrim didn't look half as good when I played it originally. I love how it's set up out of the box. Love the light on the little alien head for the power button and the laptop lid. It's like making Windows, but make it Mac.The ports are all in the back, which makes that area heavier. So if you want to use it on your lap, you've got to be prepared to counterbalance it.I love the keyboard, which is as close to a mechanical laptop keyboard as we're going to get. And the RBG backlight! Backlight is a must, the rainbow is a plus.Does get hot and makes fan noise. As expected. Can't fault it for that, comes hand in hand with gaming. Especially on the go. Does come with an adapter for plugging in to the internet directly.
