Miracle Worker!
I bought this flat iron after I saw my hair stylist using it on me. I asked her where I could find it and she told me that I could only find it at the best beauty supply stores for about $200, and even THEN I would have to have a professional license to purchase it! So when I found it on Amazon for 60 sum dollars, I was amazed. By the time I bought it, the lowest price was $77 (still a huge steal compared to what the hair stylist told me). I got it in about 5 days and used it right away. Unlike my old flat iron, this one had really long plates, so I could straighten more hair and faster. And because the heat goes all the way to the outside edges, I could curl my hair. Also, my old flat iron used to snag my hair at the edges of the plates, but because this one has such huge plates, it wasn't a problem (and neither was getting used to longer plates- didn't burn myself once). This thing saves a lot of time too! It heats up all the way in less than 30 seconds. And it goes up to 450 degrees with 50 heat settings, so it's gentle enough to use on my mom's soft hair and tough enough to use on my thick coarse hair. I used to think that ceramic was the way to go, but after purchasing this flat iron, I found out that titanium is easier to take care of and conducts heat better. The one downside is the slight smell of burning plastic it gives off the first few times you use it, but it should go away rather quickly. The benefits in this case definitely outweigh the initial odor. I'm so glad I bought this. And I can't believe that I bought a flat iron and a curler that works on all types of hair for only $77! It was such a great investment. I can use this when I do my hair, my sisters' hair, and my mom's hair. If you're hesitating to buy a $77 flat iron instead of buying one at a grocery store for cheap- DON'T. It will more than pay itself off, considering the saved trips to the salon. I do my hair, my mom's hair, and my two sisters' hair, so this is saving us LOTS of time and money (and the fact that it works on all our different types of hair is amazing). This thing is just all kinds of wonderful and I know I'll have this baby for YEARS. I can't imagine having to get anything other flat iron or curler.

Ultra thin flat iron
Love my ultra thin flat iron. It allows me to get super close to the root of my hair without burning my scalp. The adjustable temperature works well for different hair textures. I would recommend this product.

Real (if you order from Amazon) and also is an amazing flat iron!
I ordered this from Amazon and not a third party seller about 6 months ago and waited to do a review so that I could see how it works after the return window. I have super curly hair (I know the name on the review says Doug- I am his wife and have long curly hair). I would not describe my hair as textured, but it is probably around a 2C/3A on the curly hair meter. Is it Genuine Babyliss? I actually was very concerned about the possibility of buying a fake knock-off, so I waited until Amazon was back in stock with it. I made sure that it said "Ships from and Sold by Amazon", and not just "Fulfilled by Amazon". You may have to choose Amazon from the list of sellers if they're not the cheapest one at the moment. I am so glad that I waited, because I'm sure that this is real. To test it, I timed how long it would take to heat up, since that seems to be the defining factor according to the reviews. It took less than a minute, probably less than 30-45 seconds, to heat up fully. Is it a good flat iron? YES I LOVE IT. To be fair, I was coming from a cheap-o Remington flat-2-straight (which, for the price, is a decent flat iron), but this is amazing and I LOVE IT. I used to have this problem with my old flat iron where if I decided to wear my hair straight, the next time I washed it, I would have a bad curly hair day because my hair was so fried. And I couldn't even think of straightening it two wash cycles in a row. Now I flat iron my hair most of the time and I still don't have split ends or dry hair. And I don't put any product in my hair before I straighten it either. I still use this if I want to wear my hair curly- I put it on low heat and gently loosen the curls on just the top of my head so that it's not a rat's nest up top but it allows my ringlets to stay in tact below. I would never have been able to do this with my old flat iron. I can also use this to make my hair wavy instead of curly by doing the above on all my hair. If you have hair like mine and you don't want it to be stick-straight (which it will do for you if you want), do just a tad of blow-drying straightening beforehand for the volume. I can sometimes make my hair straight without sectioning out the layers, but that's only if I'm really short on time- I still recommend sectioning them out. My hair stylist swears by this flat iron, and now I see why! But she did scold me for keeping the temperature too high- I had it at 40, which worked very well and I didn't have to pass over it twice ever. My hair stylist recommended no higher than 35, which doesn't work quite as well, but now I damage my hair less. The one con: No auto-shutoff I almost didn't buy this because it has no auto shutoff and I get really paranoid about whether I left my hair straightener on. I am SO glad I decided to buy it anyway, but for those of you who are concerned, do what I did and buy a thing to put in your outlet that has an auto-shutoff on a timer (mine was Belkin Conserve Energy Saving Outlet ). I just keep my flat iron plugged into it, even if it's not plugged into the wall, so I never forget to have the backup safety measure. I hope this review was helpful, and I really hope you decide to buy this flat iron so you can be as happy as I am with it! If you buy it from Amazon and it's not what you were expecting, you can always return it!

I'm in love with my flat iron
I purchased this flat iron to replace my Chi that stopped working after three years of use. I loved my Chi, but I was looking for something different and something that has more lasting power. I originally purchased the HSI ceramic flat iron and returned immediately for flaws that I could not overlook (I reviewed that as well) and got this one instead because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. When I first opened up the box, I was disappointed because I did not get the baby blue color iron that I was expecting. I'm not sure if this is because I purchased the 1" or because the color varies depending on availability, but I received a black one with a silver pattern. This wasn't a big deal because the black is glossy and it's actually nice. The next thing I noticed was that it's so light, it borders on flimsy. In fact, it's so light, that I kept the box and original packaging, half expecting it to break within a few days. It's been a few weeks now, and it's still running and I've gotten used to the lightness that I can't imagine having a heavier flat iron now. There are plenty of straighteners out there that manage to straighten your hair just fine, but it comes with problems i.e. it hurts and tugs your hair. This is not the case with the Babyliss and this is probably the best part of it. It literally glides through your hair with no tugging whatsoever. The pros and cons are as follows: PROS: Straightens beautifully and quickly with no tugging. Curls easily with no tugging. Varied heat settings (1-50) for all hair types. Extremely lightweight. Longer plates so it grabs larger sections of hair at a time. Heats up in less than 1 minute and the plates cool down in less than a minute. CONS: The location of the on/off switch is on the outside, where you hold the iron so on occasion I have switched it off, but with practice, the frequency in which this happens can be diminished. There is no indicator letting you know when the iron is ready at the desired temp. It just is a steady red light. This straightener gets really hot, but I like to use it at the second to highest setting even with my fine hair. I feel like it works the best and quickest under higher settings, but a heat protectant is necessary. When I didn't use one, I smelled like burned hair, but after using one, my hair was smoother and it even straightened better. As for the lasting power, I can't exactly attest to that since it's only been a few weeks, but because it's so expensive, I'm hoping it lasts more than three years.

love it. very happy.
I love this. It was recommended fed to me by a friend who is a hair stylest. My hair is very very thick and wavy curls. Things I love. It gets hot fast. Not a lot of wait time compared to my other ceramic plated flat iron I had. Not a top name. I think a conair. It makes amazing curls!! Thay stay all day! The first time I used it to curl my hair and I curl my hair often. I got so many complents. All day long people were Commenting on how nice my hair looked. The outside get real hot so when curling you get hest all around. The plates are long so as my hair sped in the iron it's getting straight in one shot. It makes my hair very soft and smooth. It's a styling tool. It really is. I used a chi for a short time. And I loved it. This is for me a lot better. The plates are longer and curls better. With a chi I am able to add volume to my hair easier but it's because the chi is shorter and I'm familiar with it so it's easier to move. But I'm practicing and it's getting easier. Cons: It gets hot! My other hot iorn has a spot to grab and pinch the hair. I made the kistake of pinching the blades on this and it burnt.. bad. Won't do that again. Lol The paint is coming off already. I have it like 2 weeks. And I've curled my hair 3 times. From curling the paint is worn already around the edges. It's longer but thinner then other flat irons I've used and is taking a bit to get used to. After using the same style of flatirons this is different in the way you hold it and manipulate the hair. So practice. Not a big deal. It's not a digital. I really enjoy the digital dials. The on button is in a place where I keep turning it off. Not that big of a deal because it heats back up in about a minute. And it might be the way I'm holding it or used to holding it. Not to many cons. And I love it. It was between this and a chi smart. And compared to the chi I'm so happy I got this. I enjoy it so much better. Even though I never bought a chi like I said I've always used them. And I had a chi smart for 3 weeks borrowed before I bought this. . It is a lot better. Does everything a chi can do.

Worth the money
I have colored fine hair that is a little past shoulder length. My old flat iron just died on me. It was a cheap Remington, but that thing lasted for seven years. My hairdresser talked me into buying the Babyliss flat iron. The reviews were mixed and it was $130. I was really skeptical that it was worth the money, but was comforted by the fact I could always return it if I wasn’t happy. Well, I’m keeping it. I love it! I don’t even mind how they do the temperature controls and that it’s not digital. You just read the directions, set your appropriate temperature for your hair, and leave it on that setting. Easy. As for how it performs, it blows my old flat iron away. It takes about 30 seconds to heat up and you’re ready to go. I do my hair in sections and it only takes me about five minutes to finish. I do use Pureology color fanatic 21 leave in conditioner and Living Proof 5 in 1 styling cream in my hair to blow dry and straighten. This iron gets hot. Use a heat protectant. As long as your are careful and keep your hand away from the plates, you don’t need a glove in my opinion. The iron glided easily over each section of hair, and I only had to do one pass each time. It was smooth and no snagging like some people mentioned in their reviews. The plates gripped my hair with no problem too. I do have fine hair, but this wasn’t a problem either. My hair was smooth and straight with one pass whereas my old iron took several. I’m hoping that means less damage over time. All in all, I’m very happy with this flat iron and don’t regret spending the money. You get what you pay for usually. I really debated buying the $40 Conair titanium flat iron, but I feel I made the right decision. Only time will tell, because several reviews mentioned that theirs stopped working after a couple of months. I really hope they’ve fixed this problem. It says it has a four year limited warranty, but I’m not sure how you would go about using it if you needed to do so. Also, I just have to mention how pretty it is. I love the blue color. Of course, this has nothing to do with its functionality.

Professional results at home!
I have color treated blonde hair that I take really good care of and using a hot tool as much as I do requires a good quality product. Really impressed with this iron. It was a dream to use and did an amazing job of giving my hair the finishing touches to my straight blunt bob. I have been using one of the top of the line flat irons but this is so much superior. No grabbing, so many heat choices and a pleasure to use and the results are beautiful. Great choice.

Should have gotten this sooner
The Blowout Professor has a good video on flat irons, and he recommended this one for my hair type. I bought the 1", used it for the first time yesterday, and loved how easy and fast this expensive flat iron was to use. I do not regret my purchase. Since it's thin, it's easy to get close to the roots. It also has a long plates to fit a wide section of hair. I woke up today, and my hair still looked nice after a night's sleep that usually adds waves and kinks to various parts of my hair. I had a hard time deciding on the right temp, but there is a guide in the printed instructions. I spent $500 on a Dyson hair dryer that does not straighten my hair type (wavy) at all, so the money spent on this flat iron seems like money better spent. Hope it lasts for a long time.

Me encanta
