Surprising quality for the price point!
Excellent sound quality, comfortable feeling, just the right weight this beautiful guitar is perfectly suitable to my teens needs. My daughter was asking for an electric guitar and her music teacher sent me the Amazon link to this Donner. I was surprised by the quality and sound produced by a guitar at this price point. My daughter has been so happy with it and has been able to tune it herself and use the included accessories. I think this will be a great guitar for her for years to come.

Unleashing Musical Magic: My Beginning Journey with the Donner DST-152 Electric Guitar
I am absolutely thrilled with my Donner Electric Guitar, model DST-152! As a beginner guitar player, I couldn't have asked for a better instrument to kick-start my musical journey. The sleek and stylish design initially caught my eye, and upon playing it, I was blown away by its impressive sound quality. The rich, resonant tones it produces are a delight to the ears and have motivated me to practice for hours on end. The smooth fret board and comfortable neck make it easy for me to navigate through chords and scales, enhancing my learning experience.Whether I'm strumming along to my favorite songs or experimenting with new techniques, the DST-152's versatility has exceeded my expectations. It's truly a fantastic guitar that has quickly become an integral part of my musical expression. In addition to the guitar itself, I also invested in a collection of 13 Donner pedals to create a dynamic pedal board setup for my gigs. This combination has taken my performances to the next level, allowing me to explore an array of captivating sounds and effects. Each Donner pedal enhances the character of my playing, from the subtle nuances to the bold crescendos. I'm able to effortlessly switch between different tones, giving my performances a professional edge that leaves a lasting impression on the audience. With the Donner Electric Guitar and my diverse pedal board, I'm not only equipped for success as a beginner, but I'm also confidently stepping into the world of live music with a setup that's as unique and innovative as my musical aspirations. The only CON is the machine heads or tuner clicks when I am tuning my strings. The strings stay in tune but the machine heads appear to have an internal issue which I cannot fix.Suggested upgrades:*Upgraded Tuning Machines:Consider brands like Schaller, Hipshot, or Grover for high-quality locking tuners.*Pickup Upgrades:Brands like Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, and EMG offer a wide range of pickups to suit different playing styles.*Custom Pickguard and Hardware:Brands like Pickguardian, WD Custom Pickguards, and Warmoth offer custom pickguard options. For hardware, options from Allparts, Gotoh, and Fender can be considered.*Nut Replacement:TUSQ and Graphtech are reputable brands for replacement nuts.*Effects Loop and Pedalboard Expansion:Brands like Boss, TC Electronic, Donner and Strymon provide high-quality effects pedals for an expanded pedalboard setup.Remember to research and choose the options that best match your preferences and playing style. These suggestions can help you further enhance your Donner Electric Guitar's performance and make it even more tailored to your needs. Some of these upgrades can be done yourself if you are confident in doing that otherwise seek out a professional guitar technician (luthier) for the setup. Or you can watch a bunch of YouTube videos.Otherwise for the money spent this is a great price point for a beginner guitarist.Thank you Donner!

My review of the donner dst 152r
The Donner DST-152R is one of the best beginner electric guitars you can buy for the money. It offers impressive build quality, a comfortable neck, and a versatile HSS (Humbucker-Single-Single) pickup configuration that lets you play everything from clean blues and pop to hard rock and metal. Many reviewers note that it feels and plays like a guitar that costs much more than its price. The satin maple neck feels smooth and comfortable, making it easy for new players to learn chords and scales. The factory setup is generally good, although some guitars may benefit from a professional setup or minor fret polishing to reach their full potential.Sound quality is surprisingly solid for a budget instrument. The bridge humbucker delivers punchy rock tones, while the single-coil pickups produce bright, classic Strat-style sounds. The included mini amp works well for quiet practice, but upgrading to a larger practice amp will noticeably improve the overall sound.ProsExcellent value for the price.Comfortable neck with good playability.Versatile HSS pickup configuration.Attractive finish and solid construction.Great starter kit with useful accessories.ConsMini amp is only suitable for basic practice.Tuners and pickups are decent but not premium. Some guitars may need a setup or light fret polishing.Final VerdictIf you're looking for an affordable first electric guitar, the Donner DST-152R is an easy recommendation. It provides great playability, good sound, and everything needed to start learning without spending a fortune. While experienced players may eventually upgrade the electronics or hardware, the guitar itself offers outstanding value and is more than capable of taking a beginner well into the intermediate level.Overall Rating: 9/10

Great Budget guitar for beginner and intermediate players.
This guitar is great for the price. It’s lightweight and for this price range the quality was far better than expected. This is a great guitar for beginners and intermediate guitar players like myself. You will definitely need to tune it up, it will need a setup and I’d say eventually a stronger change as you do get some buzzing noises (at least for me) almost all over, but giving the neck some relief helped. May need to do a little more but for now it’s great. After a really good setup this thing would work perfectly. The pickups aren’t to powerful comepared to my other budget guitars but they still sound good.

Definatly worth it!
What an amazing guitar for the price! I am not a great guitarist but have played for about 20 years. This guitar is easy to play. Nice satin neck, not too thin, and nice width- especially for newer guitar players, whom might find a skinnier neck difficult to make chords. It sounds fine too. I won't change anything other than the strings. All i have done to set it up is to lower the saddle bridges to lower the action, the neck seems pretty straight. The amp sounds good too for what it is. I would highly recommend this if your thinking of picking up a strat style guitar, even if you an advanced player and what a strat to noodle around on. I'd say its better than the last two Squires I've owned. The accessories are a nice touch too. I dig it!

DST-152B
Best budget friendly guitar. Has lot more options than many guitars that are more expensive than this. Works perfectly and also has a lot of necessary equipments with the box so u don't have to worry about buying things and can start playing right out the box. According to the price can't complain about it's sound quality. It's a solid guitar to start playing.

Spectacular Value
This review is for the DST-152S HSS in Sunburst with Maple neck & fretboard. The guitar is a spectacular value for the money and looks sensational. There are very minor fret spurs on both sides of the neck which do not affect playablility but, aesthetically, will need a light file or fine sandpaper to resolve. The humbucker bridge pickup generates zero hum on normal setting and a slight hum when the bottom tone knob is pulled up, placing the pickup into single-coil mode. There is also zero hum with the pickup selector switch in the 2nd position, which I believe activates both single coil pickups together (at the neck and center positions). The little lithium-ion battery powered amplifier is very cool but I was disappointed that the volume, tone and gain controls do not work when the amp is in bluetooth mode - at least on the older (white) version I received. Maybe that's why there's a newer (black) version? The DST-152 has only been here for a week, so it will take a while yet for the muscles, callouses and flexibility to return in this old-timer's left hand and for his right hand to figure out which strings are where. But it's a whole lot nicer (and a whole lot more complicated) than the no-name knock-off I played 60 years ago. Thanks, Donner - well done!

I think I made the right choice
Having played a bit with a ukulele over the past three years, I wanted something with a wider range of sounds and decided to try an electric guitar, although I have not even played an acoustic guitar previously. But what to buy?My thanks go to YouTube and GCH Guitar Academy whose reviews on the Donner DST-100 and DST-152 convinced me that the Donner beginner’s package would be a sound choice. My thanks also to Woodsnstrings whose comparison tests of the three Donner models persuaded me that the mid-range DST-152 was the one to go for, and that was finally decided when Amazon knocked a further £25 off the asking price. So I committed.I was pleased to find that the guitar arrived in a box that was well protected against damage to each end and that the guitar was also packed within its padded gig bag. With the bag unzipped, it lay gleaming ice-blue waiting to be picked up and examined and no damage found. In fact the overall finish is as good as suggested by the reviews. I was a little surprised how heavy it is but, of course, it’s all solid wood. With the added confidence from Gear4music Guitars YouTube advice on setting up an electric guitar, I was able to tune it up, plug it into the amplifier and hear the first real sounds. The amplifier isn’t brilliant but perfectly good for learning at home. Soon I was twiddling all the knobs to explore its range and find the sounds that I prefer. I even removed a spring from behind the rear cover to give some flexibility to the whammy bar and eased the neck to lose a bit of fret buzz. I could never have done this without guidance from the You Tube subscribers and I recommend anyone else contemplating such a purchase to also do their homework first.I cannot comment on behalf of experienced players but I am really happy. It looks good and it sounds good. I think it was the right buy and now it’s up to me to get all the notes in the right order!
