Perfect for what I needed. Sturdy. Better than what I thought it would be.

I bought this little gooseneck a few months ago for my home studio setup here in Florida. I do a bit of podcasting and voiceover work, and sometimes I need to tweak my mic position without moving the whole stand—especially when I'm recording on my desk or taking gear on short trips to visit family. The GFW-MIC-GN6 seemed like a cheap, no-fuss solution, and honestly, for the most part, it’s been exactly that. It’s a solid 6-inch piece of black steel with standard threads on both ends, so it screws right onto my mic stand and holds my clip just fine. The flexibility is real—you can bend it to get your mic closer to your mouth or angle it away from desk reflections, which has helped clean up my audio a bit when I’m working in a tight space. What I like most is how straightforward it is. No fancy features, just a bendy neck that stays where you put it. I’ve used it with a USB condenser and a dynamic mic, and for lighter mics, it holds position without sagging. When I’m setting up in a hotel room for a quick recording session (which happens more often than I’d like with my travel schedule), it’s been handy to extend the reach of a basic stand without needing to lug around a bulky boom arm. At around eight bucks, it’s hard to complain about the price—it feels like you’re getting what you pay for: a simple, functional accessory that solves a specific problem. But let’s keep it real—it’s not perfect. The biggest issue I’ve noticed is that it can get wobbly, especially if you’re using something heavier like a Shure SM7B (which I tried once out of curiosity). The flex that makes it useful also means it transmits vibrations more easily, and if you bump the stand or talk loudly, you’ll hear it in the recording. Worse, after a few months of regular use, mine developed a slight kink near the base and eventually the threads started to feel loose. I didn’t drop it or abuse it—just standard screwing in and out when switching mics—and it’s not holding as firm as it did when new. For the price, I suppose some wear is expected, but if you’re planning to use this daily with a heavier mic, you might want to look at something sturdier. Honestly, for what it is—a short, flexible extender—it’s worked well enough for my lighter mics and occasional use. It’s solved the problem of needing just a few extra inches of reach without overcomplicating my setup. If you’re on a tight budget, mostly use lightweight mics, and don’t mind treating it gently, it’s a decent buy. Just don’t expect it to be a lifetime piece or handle serious abuse. I’d still grab another one if I lost it, mainly because it’s cheap and does the core job when you need that little bit of adjustability. I’d give this a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It’s not amazing, but for the specific, narrow purpose of adding a little bendable reach to a mic stand, it delivers acceptable value—especially if you manage your expectations and treat it with a bit of care. If you need something bomb-proof for a heavy broadcast mic, save up for a better option. But for casual use, home studios, or throwing in your travel kit? It’s okay.

My mic arm was not quite long enough, and this did the job! Be warned, it really is 6" long, so measure accordingly. It takes a fair bit of force to bend, which I like. I have never noticed it move, and it seems resilient. I'm able to grab my mic arm by it to adjust the whole arm for reference. Not much else to say. It's a very simple product. I guess I could add that it had come loose from its packaging inside the Amazon bag, but that is hardly a problem

I often use my microphones in a "radio broadcaster" position (microphone placed about 3 inches above the nose to avoid breath sounds). The problem is that most booms for that positioning are too short to get the right orientation, so this gooseneck allows the boom to be angled higher and then this gets the angle right. This is a solidly built, all metal gooseneck, and the threads work smoothly in the connections. The neck is pretty stiff - which means once correctly positioned - the microphone will stay correctly in position. I would buy again. If this review has been at all helpful, please click the button? This is awesome product provide me with the flexibility to direct my mic in the right direction without the purchase of expensive articulated arm .

Fits and works well.

Not stiff enough. They are weak, when extended too far and mic is too heavy. Will have to rethink my mic set up.
