Year One: A Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter Collection (Quincy Harker Demon Hunter Book 1)

awesome read
Quincy Harker is a demon Hunter, his mother and father are Jonathan and Mina Harker. His uncle is Count Dracula, but is known as Luke Card. This set of four books was an awesome read. I laughed so hard I had a hard time with my bladder. Lol. My stomach hurts. I read a short story about Quincy and fell in love with him so grabbed the books on KU. I first read about him in Fantastic Hope. He is so snarky, there are Buffy-isms and other stuff I grew up watching or reading mentioned. Q just puts out a magical smack down of epic proportions and there are old WWF (wrestling) mentions too. I swear when I wasn’t laughing I was chewing my nails because the stuff he deals with is scary as all get out. I hope that someday they make a show or movie about this because that would be awesome!

Sloppy? Yes. Editing needs work? Yes. And Yet... :-) :-) :-)
Okay, so Mr. Hartness does not keep track of what has gone before, which usually drives me nuts, and he failed to write that it is Death who rides a pale horse (I believe Pestilence was given the pale horse), which also usually bothers me; however, the tales in this book were quick enough, interesting enough, and funny enough to overcome both those distractions for me. This is not even mentioning the typos, comma mis-placements or absences, or even the thought, 'Gee, Quincy, a little slow are ya?' that went with Hell Freezes Over. And still I gave the collection 4 stars because of the quick, interesting plots, and the fun word uses throughout all four stories.Have doubts? Borrow it on Kindle Unlimited, read it, and see what you might miss if you don't check it out for yourself!

Hellishly Good
Quincy Harker is a hard drinking, fast talking hot head with a dirty mouth and Dracula as a kind of uncle. The action is as fast as the banter between the cast, which includes demons, witches, Angels, vampires, cops, the horsemen of the apocalypse, plus many more. Uncle Luke, who is Dracula, and Renfield are particular favorites of mine. A fun, high octane read sure to make you stay up late just to finish a chapter or story.

Wisecracking hero
A friend recommended this book. He said that if I enjoyed the Iron Druid that I would enjoy the dialog in this one. The book is essentially multiple novellas strung together, which made for good stopping points so I could get some sleep. My only complaint is that I'm still waiting for book 2 to arrive even though I ordered them both at the same time. I highly recommend this book.

What took me so long?
Q is my type of (anti) hero, sarcastic and funny but committed to helping the bullied. I thoroughly enjoyed Year One and now am in search of Year Two and beyond. Thank you Mr. Hartness, for an enjoyable read.

Fine adventure.
This is the first book in the Quincy Harker series. I listened to it on Audible several months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed reading it in print.

Very Cool
I am now very messed up because I have another new favorite hero character I want to follow and a new author to keep track of. There just aren't enough hours in the day for all the stuff I have to do and all the reading I want to do as well. John Hartness has just made it worse with this outstanding story. I absolutely adore Quincy Harker! This is a crazy cross between "Lethal Weapon," "Dracula," and "Young Frankenstein." I already have the next two books. Who has time for reviews?

Good read;)
Far be it for me to deprive you of your unicorn! So here goes, I enjoyed this book because the hero is not your typical white knight. He shows us that all kinds of people can be heros, even people we would not normally see as one. The author doesn't whitewash is with trite crap about region of the nature of humanity. I hope to read more of your work in the future.

Urban fantasy
If you're a fan of the Dresden Files, or Alex Verus, or Sandman Slim, you'll be delighted to make the acquaintance of one Quincy Harker - a spell-slinging wizard with a smart mouth and a boatload of character flaws. The stories never slow down long enough to get boring. If you're the type of person who uses a lull in the story to take a break from reading, be ready to stay up all night reading these.

Not bad.
Shades of Jim Butcher. That being said, this collection is entertaining with some engaging characters. Good fun with some dark moments although the reader isn't allowed to dwell on them for too long. All in all not bad but does tend to follow a well trodden path.
