Got hit by what i believe was a lidar/laser, “lf16754” and it never alerted. is there a setting that i might have changed that caused it to not sound?

While I believe it's possible to turn off the Laswer alerting, I'd be willing to bet it didn't see the laser hit you. The clear plastic piece sticking out of the top of the detector is what's used to report laser and it requires line of sight or a very strong bounce to accurately detect. I haven't seen it tested explicitly, but the location where you mount the R8 will greatly affect the laser reporting. Too low or too high on the windshield might drastically drop the sensor's rear visibility. All that said, because laser determines your speed in about 1/3 of a second, it would be unlikely for you to avoid any speeding ticket that would come from an R8 laser report
