Very effective for adult food moths.
We unfortunately got some food moths in a bag of birdseed, which we had stored in our laundry room. I have to say , these were very effective in getting rid of the adult moths, although part of the battle lies in finding and cleaning the larvae off corners of the walls and on the ceiling. They are easy to set up and donโt take a lot of space. We donโt have kids or animals but I would recommend placing the trap in a safe area. Be careful not to touch the inside as it is sticky! Our birdseed is now kept in airtight containers as well.

These traps really attract moths! Recommend
This really works. I loathe moths. Theyโre such a nuisance. We got moths in our garage due to some spilled birdseed. His sag! There is a product specifically for moths attracted to birdseed. These traps really attract moths. I feel as though they are very fresh with potent pheromones. I have ordered these twice so far and, if the issue persists, I will continue to order them. Highly recommend.

Excellent non-poisonous monitor for the presence of India meal moths
MaxGuard Birdseed Pantry Moth Traps with Extra Strength Pheromones is the perfect canary in the coal mine test to see if you have an active pantry or bird seed moth infestation. Especially if you have pets and don't want to spread poison everywhere. People say "they don't work"... but they DO work as they are intended... both as a monitor and to trap male moths. They will NOT kill moths (except the males who are attracted to the pheromones, and get stuck and die). Less males means less fertilization of the female's eggs and the females lay hundreds of eggs a day! Use these to detect the presence of the India Meal Moth especially after you have thoroughly cleaned your cupboards, even carpets! In addition to the traps I used a battery-operated manual bug zapper shaped like a tennis racket and by running it across my carpets & fabrics I found the tiny maggot form of the moth crawling in my carpet and zapped them daily to help break the cycle. I also removed everything from my cupboards and washed them. I put nuts into baggies... later I found moths had hatched in the closed baggie! Nasty buggers! The female will lay eggs everywhere, in anything with a texture. On my crocheted throws, in pet bedding, on towels. These should all be laundered. They are insidious! These non-toxic pheromone traps let you know how successful you've been in reducing the population. It's not going to be quick and easy to get rid of these moths because the moths breed like wildfire & these traps let you know how successful you've been.

Moths Be GONE
A couple of years ago, we had an infestation of moths from birdseed which was really hard to get a handle on until we set out MaxGuard birdseed moth traps. I was happily shocked at how quickly the problem abated! I still see an occasional moth but as long as I keep traps out, there are no infestations. The last time I needed to reorder these, Amazon was out. They were hard to find elsewhere and when I finally located some, the price was almost double. The fact that I paid it tells you how confident I am in them. I'm relieved to see that they're back in stock on Amazon today. I opted to Subscribe & Save every six months which is adequate for prevention. Perhaps other brands work as well but I'm hesitant. Most of them combine pheromones for both pantry moths as well as birdseed moths. Based on nothing more than a gut feeling (LOL) I'm concerned that the efficacy might be diluted. I know without a doubt that these MaxGuard traps work 100% for birdseed moths and I like to zero in on the little demons that made our lives a living heck!

Great for catching the male moths.
These traps mimic the pheromones that a female emits to attract males moths. So it does not trap the female moths, but it does a wonderful job with the males....thus eliminating them from breeding which eliminates the females from laying eggs. They were simple to assemble, though I wish the hanger was a bit more durable - so be careful with the hanger piece when assembling. Though it can be just set on a flat surface and works just as well.

Better Brands out There
I have a moth problem in my house coming in with my dad's pet budgie bird seed. For the longest time i was using another brand that seemed to work well, but I never was able to completely control the problem. I started experimenting with different brands of moth catchers, but i have to say this particular brand WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST one I tried. Not a single moth caught using multiple traps, in different locations. At first I thought maybe i did not apply the bait, as this is a separate process for other traps, nope, they claim the bait is integrated in this trap. It's possible i got a defective trap? I'm not going to waste my money to see if this was the case. My opinion, stay away get ANY other brand as they will likely work 100% better than this one.
