This wooden foldable 72x80 hand carved room divider is absolutely stunning. You definitely MUST not go with the “Used -very good” purchase option if offered. I did that and it arrived compl destroyed. The amazing thing is that one was just delivered yesterday, I of course set it up for return for credit to original payment form and immediately reordered a NEW one. AMAZON picked up the first one that was truly destroyed (even had a red sticker on the outside stating “package and item damaged”, AND they delivered the new one TODAY at the same time!! So in less than 24 hours I had a new replacement and a no charge, picked up return! Who does this anymore these days (rhetorical question)? I couldn’t be happier with the refund and return process or the delivery speed of the replacement item that is already set up where I wanted it. It is SO beautiful I contempt trying to find a way to keep the first one but it was truly awful and broken and bells smashed and fallen off it just wasn’t even packaged the way the new one was with all the safeguards in place to prevent the damage. It’s truly a stunning piece and clearly hand done. I’m so happy with this room divider I’ve used as a headboard against our guest bedroom king size bed that was clearly missing a backdrop! Its definitely given the bed a finished and cozy feel. The room isn’t done yet but this piece has set the stage for what’s to come! It’s all put together, just unbox, unfold and you’re set. It’s multifunctional as well. Superb quality. Even the bells were affixed as stated it’s truly an antique looking handmade piece - you will love it!!

It's heavy. I REALLY like the quality and design of this piece. It perfectly achieved the East Indian and Bohemian style I was looking for. My first order arrived damaged, but Amazon quickly replaced it, making the overall experience a positive one.

I have been eyeing this beautiful hand-carved wooden divider screen (4 panels with ghanti bells) for almost 2 years. During this stalking period its price went up, and up, and down, and then up again in AMAZON. Price aside, I was also hesitant to buy it, due to mixed reviews about the wood having "wood worms?", or strong chemical odor, or visible mold. Other reviews said the craftsmanship was shoddy, or that the screen itself was wobbly. Few reviews documented broken parts on arrival. I'm happy to report that I was one of the lucky buyers whose screen arrived in perfect condition. My screen was packed impeccably! I mean, it is obvious that structural engineers thought this out. When I opened the box, several silica desiccant packets came out (so NO mold or musty smell). There was a reinforced cardboard inner frame around the folded screen; flexible Styrofoam sheets were used to wrap around the cardboard frame, and placed between each slat. They also wedged pieces of composite wood in between the exterior legs of the slats to protect the item from breaking in transit. Nothing was broken, no missing bells, no mold, and hopefully no termites or "wood worms". The screen smells like wood that has been varnished, but NOT overly treated chemically. I have a very sensitive (nay, neurotic) sense of smell and I am not bothered by it. The divider screen is congruent with the seller's images and description, including its weight. This is a HEAVY item (the master carton has warnings saying 2 people are needed to lift or move it). Each panel's carving, is perfect, no broken links, and very uniform. I am not sure if that means the craftsman who worked on it, is THAT TALENTED, or that these panels were cut by a machine. It does not matter to me, it still looks hand-assembled by a human, beautiful, and unique. The staining and varnishing is not flawless, there are areas where varnish did not reach – mostly on the outer edges; but to me that adds to the "hand-made feel." Each of the bells looks different, so that for sure looks hand made. Most of the bells have a lovely sound, a couple did not. BUT this is not a wind-chime, this is a screen that if you place in an area where wind will blow, you might get a very pleasant, zen, brief trickle of chimes. My first attempt at putting up the screen failed as it looked "wobbly" and the whole thing was leaning forward. I blamed it on the rug. However, I then tried flipping/reversing the way the screen was facing, and it worked. It looks stable and straight. I will add images to this review after I fix up the area where the screen will live. Every time my eyes glance at the screen, I smile. This was a very satisfying purchase. I had only seen images in Amazon. I did not find this piece in any physical store - and boy did I look for it. I built it up so much in my head: that it would be a gorgeous and functional piece for my tiny place. I was worried that my expectations were unrealistic (seeing those bad reviews), but I confess, expectations were met! I don't know if the manufacturer and/or seller will ever read this silly review, but if you do, THANK YOU. I very much recommend this product.

Ordered this to help divide up an awkward "great room" and shield everyone's eyes from my hideous dual monitor standing desk set up. The area that is in is adjacent to an antique sofa and chair, so we thought this would go well with the non-ugly decor. When it arrived I was surprised at how heavy it was. I was expecting something more akin to set-dressing - don't look at it too long, it's just designed to imitate the real thing. Instead, it was actually the real thing. Solid wood, 6ft tall, and the design I selected has bells (brass?) inset in each panel. It looks quite at home with the Queen Anne revival furniture, and is functional as well - you no longer "see" the home office set up because you're too busy staring at the room divider. Yes, it does smell like varnish, so if you plan to keep it in a smaller room, I would recommend letting it air in a garage, covered balcony, etc. for a day or so to let the odor dissipate. It is also very securely packaged for shipping. I would not hesitate to recommend this item for anyone looking for a unique and functional piece of decor.

Beautiful, very sturdy, and no smell at all like other imported wood items I’ve purchased in the past from other vendors. Highly recommend.
