T TERRE IDECH Power Rotary Scissors Lawn Trimmer Attachment, ASK-MW23

Lot to unpack with this product. First and foremost Even being as careful as possible i've broke 1500$ worth of windows with my regular trimmer. So this product will save me 5 times what windows will cost in the future. Nothing is ever thrown by the scissor trimmer. I have a Honda handle bar trimmer with a quick replace string head. Thick stalk weeds snap string like candy. I see this product like the rabbit and turtle. This scissor trimmer is slower, but actually wins the race as you dont need to waste time looking for string cutting string and rethreading string or looking for tools to help mess with string. trimming sucks but this thing is satisfying cause your working 100% of the time now no messing around. Its loud i wear ear buds cause the engine is also loud either with string or with scissor. it takes power to run this I would not even consider putting this on a battery trimmer. Even if it can be done its gonna zap batteries and put heavy strain on the electronics. I would say this is for gas trimmers only. The instructions are confusing or terrible or both. IF you are reading this pay attention. It says comes with a sleeve already installed. measure tube use correct sleeve. What this should say is dont mess with the sleeve that was installed and add another sleeve that matches your tube measurement basically you must add 2 sleeves to keep it installed and tight. It should not move at all and the side screw has a sharp point to bite on your tube if its loose you will tear up your tube wobble and even potentially fall off . All in all this is hands down the best trimmer attachment i have ever used. The biggest con is its almost as expensive as the trimmer itself.

Used this on an EGO cordless weed trimmer. (EGO Commercial 17.5in. String Trimmer, Model# STX4500) Used the 24mm adapter on the carbon fiber shaft, and 7x7 drive adapter. It fit nice and snug. Set screw did not need a new hole, it holds just fine. You have to adjust the engagement of the driveshaft in the head, if the head is put on too tight the motor and drive make noise. Dont seat the trimmer head 'too deep' on the shaft to avoid this. PRODUCT WORKS FANTASTIC!!! I get a 45 min of solid trimming on the smallest 2.5ah battery. The head has cut grass, thicker stem weeds, small branches, been in the dirt a LOT, and STILL is sharp and working well. No nicks in the blades yet, even after several uses. I am impressed how much use it has given for very little wear. One of the best lake bank trimmers I have found. not as fast as using a 16" trimmer, but SO much neater and easier on the operator. Its very nice not having grass pieces thrown everywhere!!!! The head does not mark up the wooden border pieces I use, like string trimmers do. If you manicure your property, you will love how neat this cuts. Makes for easy rake up of longer cut debris, if so desired. KEEP THE BLADE SHIPPING GUARD for storage. Works very well to store between uses.

Bought these and attached them to a Ryobi trimmer. They worked great for a few times but then I heard a click and something inside snapped. The blades no longer turn and there is a grinding noise inside. I actually loved them for the little time I was able to use them. Back to my old trimmer now. Won't buy again.

Absolutely amazing product does not scratch up my fence, my battery lasts longer with it on and gives a crisp sharp edge that a string trimmer will not give you unless you are a landscape professional. I don’t typically buy things that are less expensive but coming from a guy who likes cheap stuff it is well worth the money.

First, let me start by saying, these are NOT Idechs. This is a replica of the first generation of the Idech/Stens rotary scissors. Newer generations of the Idech have a smaller brace/guard and allow you to get a deep edge without hitting the ridge. That being said, they work great once you get used to cutting with them. I was told to go full power on my stihl trimmer, however, I've found that 1/4 to 1/2 throttle works better for getting nice crispy edges. The blades are very durable and do not kick any debris around. That makes it a win for me. Even though these are a copy and not the original, youre still getting a lot of bang for your buck here. They are very heavy especially when paired with a gas trimmer. Be sure to buy the Agro EP-O grease and grease the heck out of it before you use it and again after 2 or 3 uses. This will cut back on the amount of heat generated by the gear box. The first few uses the blades get REALLY hot but as they break in while being greased, the temp goes down. When starting a gas trimmer I recommend building yourself a quick sawbuck to keep the blades off the ground and to allow them to cool when done.

I finally got to use this attachment and it cut better than I thought. I cut through thick sword grass with ease. Also made some clean cuts threw small samplings along the way, sweet! A string trimmer would have not cut those samplings. The only down sight, I will say that the cutter head has some weight compared to the string trimmer. So if your like me, lifting the head up to cut small low hanging branches, it’s going to be a workout. I don’t mind, but some folks would probably not. Easy fix, just don’t prune with it. The battery lasted about the same, but it will depend on how thick the grass is. I had some very dense patches that the battery and cutter had to work extra hard. I would highly recommend this item if your yard has lots of thick grasses.

This thing works great for cutting grass where mower can’t go. I just wish it had some sort of guide bracket to control height of cut.

I was hoping this would be great trimming edges without throwing rocks and debris like the string head. However, since the trimmings aren't flung by the trimmer, it's hard to see what got missed. The weight is noticeable- a bit of an arm workout which was fine. The weight does throw off the balance when trying to start. It also creates more resistance, making pull starts a bit tougher. Lastly, it has trouble getting things that are right against concrete. Since my trimmer needs to clean up the edges of everything, this is not the right product. If you have grass that you can't get with a mower, this would be great.
