I was looking for a system where I would be able to not only open my garage door but turn on my front porch lights as well as my front entrance lights inside of my home. There are nights I work very late and my wife comes home around 7pm. In the winter time it is usually very dark. There have been a few intrusions in my neighbourhood and it had her a little on edge about coming home late to a dark house. I did some research on Amazon and discovered these Skylink products. I purchased this, along with the TC-318-7 transmitter, the LS-318 screw-in dimmer receiver and the ID-318 motion sensor transmitter. Now, my wife is able to turn on all of the lights and open the garage door before getting out of her car. Being able to walk into a well lit home has eased her nerves. It has granted us a sense of safety and security, especially during what seems to be like "Home Invasion" season in our neighbourhood. I intend on purchasing more receivers to control more lighting throughout the house. I will eventually have all the lights on our main and upper floor controlled by this one remote. The installation was simple, something I can do without being much of a handy man myself. I would Definitely recommend this product to others!

I bought this to replace the original button box that came with the kit. The first unit had a flaky connection, once I installed it the door would activate randomly. When I replaced the first unit with the second one (this purchase), the problem went away. When you install be careful about stressing the wire that connects to the door opener switch, it has no strain relief inside the box and on the flaky unit I think there was a loose connection. Also, my opener required the additional power supply. So overall I had some installation issues, but now it is working perfectly with both a wireless keypad and a key fob. So satisfied in the end.

Works exactly as advertised! I'm able to use my external garage door input pad now

I like it because it was a economical alternative to buying a new opener as my Craftsman works fine just all the remotes quit and it has a problem on the circuit board

To begin with I originally bought two of these in kits with remotes from another company. I bought this one to replace one of the receivers from those sets. During the late spring when I installed them and early fall when they stopped working they worked amazingly. They gave a 300 foot range. Once fall fell and the temperatures began to drop operation got to be intermittent especially on one unit. I bought this one to replace it. Problems continue. Temps dropped below 42(f) and operation stopped completely(both units). I'm eventually going to have to find another option. Skylink the manufacturer / distributor. Nice folks, helpful as far as their script allows them. I threw out the invoice for the first two units(since they worked fine for months) and they will not allow return for repair or diagnosis without it. They confirmed the temperature operating range of the receivers and while they would not confirm or deny they were well withing that range they were completely unhelpful in any other way. Polite yes helpful no. If you live in an area where the outside temperature never drops below 72 everything should be fine. Otherwise don't waste your money... This unit installed in minutes, and worked just like the product description states. So why the 3 stars? Well, after I installed it, it took a little while ( a few minutes) before it would respond to my remote. Sometimes, it doesn't respond to the remote at all, unless you put the remote in very close. I wold place the blame on the remote, except for one day where my garage door was opening and closing by itself repeatedly - WITHOUT the use of the remote. My garage door never did this until I installed this little unit. So it was definitely the unit. Perhaps it was picking up a signal from another device somewhere - but that means that to had no problem picking up signals from a LONG distance, and yet has trouble with my own remote which was made specifically for this kind of unit. So there you have it. It works, but inconsistently, and it might short out (or something) and cause your door to open and shut by itself once in a while. THREE STARS.

I have genie garage door opener, I have installed this GB-318 button. Installation was easy no issues with "learn". Installed the App on iPhone and Samsung phones. When i push the icon on the phone It works, but not all the time. Matter of fact it works 50% of the time. If i open it and try to close the door within 10sec after opening it button doesn't work. sometimes i have to wait for about 60 sec and then push the button on my app it works. I wouldn't recommend it

i bought this opener to control a second door i have at home. it paired up with my skylink hub easily. installation is a breeze. either snap it in parallel or replace your existing door opener. i now have 2 of these connected to my hub and can control my doors from my android smartphone. just don't forget to put it in Learning mode and have your hub "learn" it when your logged into the app or via your computer if it's gonna be a second opener, then name it. it's pretty simple.

Extremely easy to install, the one clip tool is very useful. Worked almost immediately. Great purchase, linked it with IFTTT to remotely open/close my garage door. Need to have the skylink system (got mine from Costco) for this to work.

Replaced identical one that stopped working. This one works fine.

This unit was very easy to install and program, however the range is very poor. I mounted it next to motor instead of at wall switch (that switch was in wall and I did not want this sticking out). It does link up with the remotes, but only activated (opened door) when I was right in front of my garage door. No value from inside my vehicle.

Still working after a year. Make sure you order the power supply.
