What temperatures can the horse survive? Connect with stand outside at 15°F or even lower freezing temperatures?

While I live in an area that has below freezing temperatures during the long Winter months it is advised to always disconnect our water hoses from the outside faucets.  This is advised as to prevent the water in the pipes from freezing up and bursting.  Now, I did store this hose reel in an outside storage bin over the winter and hooked it back up just recently and it’s working fine. No leaks etc.  I just love the self winding feature!!

so the locking mechanism does not lock the hose in place, is there a way to adjust the locking mechanism?

Hmmm. At times the “locking or stopping” feature of the hose reel releasing the hose or stopping the hose from being pulled out and/or winding back into the hose housing can occur by how one pulls slightly up or down on the hose while pulling on the hose. When I pull-up on the hose while reeling the hose in - that action stops the hose from self-winding back into the hose housing.  Just the opposite occurs while pulling on the hose while unreeling it.  I slightly pull-down on the hose and it unlocks the self-winding hose reel in place. The hose quickly winds back into the hose housing or one can easily pull the hose out further.  It makes the task of hand rolling up an otherwise long hose super quick and easy.  Just love this feature and is the main reason I purchased the hose reel.  Try the slight tugging action on the hose while pulling the hose in or out.  If the hose still doesn’t self wind/release I would contact the company.

Can I replace the hose with a better quality 5/8" or 1/2" hose?
