Review for Thermaltake Pacific MX2 Ultra CPU Waterblock
To be clear, this review is for the Thermaltake Pacific MX2 Ultra CPU Waterblock, 2.1 inch LCS Disaplay, Build in Water Temperature Senser, LGA 1700, CL-W332-CU00SW-A. The majority of the negative reviews are for different ThermalTake products - Look at the pictures included with their reviews.I bought this for my Asus Prime Z590-A motherboard & Intel i9-11900k processor. Installation was relatively easy, programming the software was easy as well. This water-block works well to control the extreme heat generated by the i9-11900k Processor. The information displayed on the LCS display is helpful to quickly monitor critical stats for system performance. It also looks great in the PC. It is a little pricey, but it is well made of premium material and should last the life of the computer.

Great water block, screen software needs updates
The media could not be loaded. This water block with the screen is a dream come true for my build. The only thing is the software could use text size and color updat for just text, other wise it's very good. So cool looking in any water cool loop.

Software is hot garbage - update
This is a quality piece made with good materials and looks great in my water loop. Easy to install, especially with TT pacific 16mm OD fittings. The software on the other hand is terrible, the interface is terrible and it's very clunky. My biggest gripe is every time I try to load an image other than the default options on to the LCD display the program closes. I have tried using their recommended GIF's, following the 480x480 parameters for images, loading previous versions of software, deleting and re-installing, on and on. Still nothing. I am not a software wizard, this is all just a hobby and I play games. I just would like for it to work. So when it doesn't you get an average rating at best. I recently built my wifes computer also and used the new Corsair LCD upgrade for it's AIO, works like a dream. Do better Thermaltake.I have since determined working with TT service desk that I have a unit with a bad controller. My options are to breakdown my water loop, disassemble and remove water block and RMA or the even better option, I can pay again for another water block and they will credit my old one when I get it returned. Ask me what I am getting out of this deal? That's right, inconvenience, frustration, aggravation, etc. Thanks for nothing TT and it will be a while if ever before I work with you again. And lastly I appreciate you being sorry for the situation. That's helps a lot.AS

Cools great, screen is nice....can't export water temp data to control fans/pump.
I love this waterblock. It was easy to install, looks great, and cools great. No complaints at all about quality.HOWEVER, any water temp sensor I've ever ran in my systems has been used to control my fan speeds. There's no need to have your fans ramping up and down continuously on a closed water loop, yet here we are with a really killer looking unit that doesn't allow the temperature data to be read by any other software programs! On top of that, you can't do any type of fan control in their proprietary software (unless you have TT fans maybe, but I don't), so besides looking pretty and being able to read it, functionally it's a bit lacking. The other gripe I have is that the thermaltake software just EATS CPU usage. I'm running a 13900K and 4090 and it regularly is showing using upwards of 10% of my GPU. I instead have opted to upload my own image and remove the software. The only problem with this is it will ONLY display WATER temp in this configuration. If you want it to rotate through any other sensor temps such as CPU, GPU, RAM, etc, you have to run their software in the background. All in all I'm really satisfied with the product, but the software design and inability to allow any other fan/motherboard software to access the data from the sensor feels like a huge miss, especially when their own software doesn't do it.

Supports AM5
At least you don't need to buy new parts for the AM5.

Software is Terrible
This block isn't bad, the only downfall is the software which plays a major part in your use of the block, you're paying a premium for the screen yet the software makes it almost unusable in my experience. The problem being is that the software stops working all the time, common reason include monitor going to sleep which is probably most annoying among many others, sometimes it just stops working when doing random tasks like browsing the web. Come to find out this is an existing problem with Thermal Take for years, yet the company feels it isn't important enough to address. So get ready to restart the software multiple times per day if you just leave your pc unattended for several minutes

MX2 Ultra is nice and awesome with the LCD
I purchased the MX2 Ultra as the CPU block of choice for my AMD Ryzen 7950X3D CPU mainly due to the 2.1in LCD. This block was one of the rare blocks you can find for a DIY liquid cooling rig that has a 2.1in LCD and will allow you to add your own animations. I have it on a Ryzen 9 7950X3D with an ASUS X670e Crosshair Hero motherboard and it fits perfectly with the height being good enough to get over the massive heatsinks of the board. The only quirks I have with it is the Thermaltake software which is not all that great overall. I am hoping at some point Windows 11 will get controls to fully add and control that functionality as ARGB is the first steps in the dev builds. I also would like to see a little more customimization with the text when adding your own background animations as it is tool small in the current software version. Overall this block is doing as designed and with a stress test the CPU overall package hovered between 78-81 degrees with 80 being average under full stress load with AIDA64. Liquid temp stayed around 40 degrees. The CPU value is well enough below the CPU TJMax of 89 degrees for X3D parts. It was also hitting an all core 4.4-4.5Ghz speed. When not maxing all cores, I am getting on average 5-5.2Ghz on multiple cores with little load and no major tuning. I would say this CPU Water Block is doing exactly great and the LCD screen feature just adds to it and the overall look I was wanting to go with. Just make sure to have an available USB2 port as the cable requires that at minimum.
