What to expect in College Away from Home
Our daughter was nervous going into middle school, so we got a bunch of books from the library. I read them and then we'd go over the information together that summer before 6th grade on what to expect. I think that helped her a lot. Now she has 2 years under her belt at a community college and will be transfering in the fall to a college where she'll live in a dorm away from us. Since the middle school books helped, I decided I'd get books for Going to College Books. I got several from the library and the one that really gave the most information is from this book. This would be a great gift for a Senior to read before they attend college. This book had information from the author and college students. It's broken down in is an easy read and talks a lot of about going in with the "mind set of 90% amazing and 10% difficult. When it comes to college with realistic expectations, you can be patient, create a world of options, and be more forgiving of yourself and others. You can be imperfect and allow yourself time to figure out what you love and don't love. If you can live to face the 10% that's difficult, life will get better faster. It's just the best book out there speaking about College Living, Classes, homesickness, more homework, being a name with a face to professors, finding your people, dating, party scene, money, loans, scholarships and how to find more money for you. This is a must have book. The author also has a book for parents on what to expect, how to support your child during this new point in both your child and your lives without a child home.

Pretty good book for those entering college or during their first year.
Pretty good book for those entering college or during their first year. Not the publisher's fault that the table of my contents pages were glued together.

Great graduation gift
This is a great graduation gift to add to a gift basket or gift card. It’s really great advice and things that parents don’t always think of to tell their kids that are heading off to college.

Great book from an aunty to her nephew about to start college!
My nephews are first generation from India. I'm born and raised USA. I purchased this for my nephew to help him navigate somet hings that his parents may not ever want to discuss. I also put a note in there that says he can call us anytime day or night with anything. Safety is all that matters and all the other info is cute. I think it's a great book to come form an aunty!!!

Good Read and Full of Advice, but Had a Major Crease on the Cover
I purchased the book as a gift for a soon-to-be high school graduate because I enjoyed the e-version of it very much - some laughing was involved, but a lot of learning other aspects of college I didn't consider... as well as bringing up some memories of my own. "The Naked Roommate..." is full of fun information and advise for all college students, but especially for new college students (Freshmen), who will be entering a whole new, uncertain, and for many (likely a) scary world. The students will be taking their first steps into adulthood. This book gives them a wide range of things to be aware of, but also advises them on how to meet other students, encourages them to join things at their college (clubs, sororities/fraternities), etc.), but makes sure they are aware of the not so good side of things as well. I thought it would be a good book for my high school senior niece to read, help her prepare for college, and possibly even do some planning for how she will start her college journey. And then, possibly pass on to her younger siblings. For this, five stars. However, I did purchase a new book. When it came, there was a HUGE crease on the front cover. Since this is intended as a gift, it disappoints me tremendously. It is also the holiday season, so packages are highly shipped and the exchanging may cause me to not receive it before the gift is to be given. The book came unwrapped in protective anything over it, in a large box with other items, and zero box fillers (like air bubbles, peanuts, bubble wrap, etc.), which VERY likely caused the book to be creased during the shipping process. For this, minus two stars. Over all, three stars because "new" books should be completely flawless, not creased... as a book lover, the cover of the book having a MAJOR crease is unacceptable... book abuse.
