Went on safari and did not get one bite! The comfort of these socks is also wonderful. Great support and good quality.

Comfortable and protects well against ticks!
Most comfortable socks I’ve ever worn. Protected me from ticks while morel mushroom hunting. Also wore Pike Trail leg gaiters for added protection that were sprayed with permethrin. I was in an area where I have found many ticks on me before. This is an area that I go every year and I’m happy that I didn’t find a single tick on me. Highly recommended!

Comfortable and warmish, if that's what you want
Do they repel or deter insects? I don't really know, that's hard for me to prove. I can say that our ankles didn't have any bites at the end of the day, but I can't say that they would have without the socks. I *can* say that they're super comfortable for a full day of camping and trail hiking, so that's a win for us!
