Fits well my Golf 2013
It fit well in my 2013 Golf, I just had to make a small hole to secure it since it's a little different than the 2013 Golf one. But it perfectly sealed the fuel tank and the fuel tank cap light disappeared. Really worth it and it's good quality.

Fits my 2007 VW Jetta 2.5 despite Amazon stating that it doesn’t
I’ve had the normal fuel cap warning light, then engine warning light issue that plagues many an older VW owner. Looked up a replacement cap as this solves 95% of the issues, but the ones shown were completely different to my OEM installed cap. Even the VW part website show a different cap than was installed. The one I have is supposed to be for a different vehicle.Anyway, got tired of hunting through the web and online forums and took a chance on this one that looks correct. It works! Only issue I had and the only thing I can see that is different on this to mine is that this comes with a little push in grommet in the strap, whereas on my car there’s a little tab built onto the area around the fuel flat. Or rather there was, until I broke it off thinking it was the same as this with the little grommet and I tried to pull it out.Don’t do this and you’ll be fine… 🤨

Dealer quality without the price
Cleared my check engine light and hasn’t created any new issues since I got it in September of 2024. Works, and feels, like how you expect a part from the dealership to function and feel, but at half the price.

Perfect fit for my GTI MK6...
Love the product. It was a direct fit for my VW GTI MK6. The main thing I like is that it had the "stem" included so that I could plug it into the stock hole to allow the cap to remain attached to the vehicle and not have to either hold the cap or find a place to put it while fueling up the vehicle.

Easy to install and made my check engine light turn off
I needed to take my car for a smog this year and my check engine light had been on. I remember being told that it was due to an evap code. Read a review here that said it helped them in a similar situation so I purchased it. Installation was easy. There are little pins on the stem that attach the cap to the car and that gave me a little trouble but I just used a pen to push it in and slide the old stem out. And ta-da, check engine light stayed off and the car passed smog with no problems. I would much rather try a $30 remedy first before I take in into a shop.

Does not fit 2012 Jetta
I'm sure this is a fine gas cap. Looks to be well-built. But even though Amazon AND Volkswagen said it would fit our 2012 VW Jetta S 2.0L, it doesn't. It's simply too long to fit. I'd like to see somebody actually use it on a Jetta.I am returning it and will go buy one in person to make sure it's the right one. Sheesh, why does something SO simple have to be SO complicated?

Looks a lot different, but so far so good
I read all the horror stories about VW owners for models from the last 15+ years saying: "This does not fit my Jetta / Golf", etc. ( and wish that they at least told us what YEAR their VW was)....There seem to be soooo many models of gas caps out there for VWs of various years that it drives you crazy.......More often than not, they share the same 9 numbers/letters, and then the 10th letter is different (an "E" for this one, but there's also a "T" out there, I think....God only knows where it differs)....Anyway, the one that's been on my 2012 Jetta SE 5 cyl is the smaller white one in the pics....Don't know if it's OEM, since mine was a "certified used" car....It says "GERDES"...."2010" ....and "POM"....no VW part number on it, so I'm clueless as to its origin....Gerdes is a German company, so it probably is OEM...It's your typical spring-loaded cap that makes noise/clicks when you twist and tighten......All the sources indicated that this "5C0...E" was a correct fit for my 2012 Jetta, so I took a gamble....Turns out that it's fine....No clicks, just a quarter turn to take off / put on, and appears to provide a tight fit (Had an intermittent code pop up which I failed to read before resetting, but suspected my slightly broken gas cap was the culprit).....Anyway, owners of 2012 Jettas with a 5 cyl at least, rejoice.... this'll fit your car just fine. (Oh and a vote of confidence for seller too....a VW dealer in Neptune NJ, so it came to me in a day or two via USPS)

Fixed CEL code P0442
If you have one single code for small EVAP system leak buy this gas cap. It is original VW/Audi and fixed my CEL. If you have a different code the P0442 it’s probably going to be your purge valve that needs replaced. I bought both just in case replace the gas cap because it was easy 1 minute swap drove the car with CEL light on for about a day or two. CEL went off on its own! Car is ready for smog test 🙌🏻
