Easy reading interesting enough to give you some insight as to what worm farming is all about.Give some idea as to what you need size of your farm and location you may want to keep it in.Would say give it read and I will help you get started with your worm farm startup.Think of it as a small price for a large amount of useful information.

This is an interesting book for anyone who enjoys gardening and recycling to read. It will add to any information you already have if you either want to use compost or start your own domestic vermicomposting recycling unit. The author provides his personal experience plus some useful tips. Not the high technical though, you will need more information if you are a comercial producer or wish to perform QA on your product.

There are quite a few guides to worm composting but most of them repeat essentially the same information with slight variations in the way they suggest building your bin or which one to purchase among the commercial ones. What sets this book apart and makes it the best of those I have looked at is that it discusses each aspect of worm composting in the most practical way without much in the way of dogma. Instead the author discusses real life experience, much of it his own, explaining the reasons for various choices and leaving you with a good number of options in each area so that you can take advantage of bedding options that are inexpensively and readily available for you or food options that are likewise practical for each reader. I had it on hand when I began worm composting and it gave me all the information I needed to feel rightfully confident in being successful. Highly recommended.

I have been bothered lately about the scarceity of earthworms in my range. When I was young they were in every scoop of soil. This book gave instructions, great instructions on how to grow my own. It's a pretty impressive manual.

Composting outdoors is labor intensive and is a slow process taking almost two years to produce results. It attracts critters I don't want. Just what I've been looking for, plus I can recycle my garbage. Now, I need to get with it and start my own worm farm.

I'm really glad there's a quick bare bones book on vermiculture that I could read faster than the average movie.If you are interested in composting with worms but have no idea where to start, this is a cheap way to find out some basics.It is repetitive in parts though, as in whole parts repeated verbatim. Yes, the information could be reviewed but I felt like it was to up the word count, or you could tell that the writers & editors couldn't be bothered with writing something new properly because they were in such a race to have a "brief book on worm poop."If you are looking to build your own worm composting box, this is not the book to learn how much from.It bothered me a bit that he didn't talk about how to find reputable sources for worms, and instead just threw in a link to something. This happens several times.Overall though, for a few bucks & an hour of your time, you will get a basic rundown about vermiculture, though you may want to read up on something with some more specifics first, or see if there is some urban gardening going on in your area.Or, really, though this is not the book I would choose to inspire it, Go full speed ahead! We need more urban farmers and to create a sustainable food and lifestyle.

Henry Owen does an excellent job of emphasizing the important aspects of vermicomposting, while keeping the dialog light and entertaining. Children and adults alike should have no trouble with following his straightforward and easily understood formula for successful home vermiculture.The book does not delve into large scale, commercial methods. This one is for the folks that want to do something that is good for the planet and easily accomplished at home without spending a lot of money or adding a lot of work to your busy schedule. Highly recommend for those with an interest, as it is a short read.
