Orbit 57184 Double Union Coupler for Orbit Valve Manifold System with Swivel Connection

Product is as advertised and does exactly what it is said to do. If you are trying to connect multiple Orbit manifolds together YOU NEED this part. No leaks and works as expected. My only gripe about this is I feel this part should have came with the Orbit Heavy Duty Preassembled Manifold. With that being said, you have no choice if you are trying to combine multiple manifolds, just suck it up and buy it. Due to odd pricing of the preassembled manifolds it was cheaper for me to buy 1 x 3 valve unit and combine 2 x 2 valve units for a total of 7. I used 2 of these couplers and it worked out great with no leaks.

Ordered via Amazon Prime and got to me in 2 days as usual. This Heavy Duty Swivel Double Union Coupler worked great for adding a 1 port manifold to my existing 3 port pre-assembled manifold so I could make a 4 valve manifold to fit in the Orbit Valve Box Base and with all pieces together it worked great. Assembly was easy and I haven't had a leak from this component as of yet. There isn't much to it, but it worked great and will make any changes very simple.

I imagine this would be the perfect solution for installing a sprinkler system. My experience was renovating a ten zone system installed the the previous home owner. If you are installing in multi-zones of 2-3 valves you can buy the entire manifold ready to install, less PVC cement. I purchased 3 valve manifolds and then called Orbit to figure out the parts needed to add additional valves which I ordered through Amazon. Orbit was very helpful and even e-mailed me the part numbers I needed. I also ordered the Orbit underground boxes and box bottoms which are made to hold these manifolds. Once installation is complete repairs to the system like replacing a malfunctioning valve is simply hand loosen/tighten the joints. No cutting, fitting, glueing involved. This is the third sprinkler system I've owned/maintained; wish I had this from the first one.

So orbit has a 3 valve manifold that I purchased and I never thought i would need to expand beyond that but what do you know life is full of surprises. Instead of starting from scratch you can actually buy another 3 valve manifold and connect them with this handy swivel. They have O rings at the point of connection and they have not leaked on me yet. This is the easiest way to create a 6 valve manifold without spending a fortune.
