You cannot play Scrabble without this! I mean, you COULD, but why would you? There are tons of words I never heard of, plus some that used to be considered slang words that are acceptable now. The kids even put away their phones to use the actual book with pages. You do have to get a new one every so often because more words are added. We keep this with our Scrabble games.

Great book to have on hand during family game night! Easy to use and helps increase your knowledge of words to use during play!

This is an example of what my brother and his wife call an MSD: Marriage Saving Device. It's right up there with an automatic ice maker or dish washer. My husband and I play Scrabble regularly and even though I sometimes (rarely) disagree with it, we agree to its authority. It's NOT a traditional dictionary; it only gives one definition, just to justify the word's inclusion. That's where disagreements come in. The given definition doesn't always seem to be the most common one, and some abbreviations seem to be acceptable. For examples, TV, OJ, and IQ are not included, but AG (agriculture) is. Still, it's the authority, and therefore our go-to when there's a challenge

I like the hard cover Scrabble dictionaries, because the print is a lot easier to read, and the word itself is in bold type. This one I got for a great price because a new edition was coming out soon.

It is perfect for my mum, as it is the most updated scrabble dictionary. It was part of my mums Xmas present and she was thrilled to receive it.
