I had previously used a double edge safety razor, and whilst I enjoyed shaving with it I wanted more control over the "aggressiveness" of my shave without it being dependent on the razor. So I picked up this razor as my first cut throat razor as I didn't want the hassle of sharpening a blade - plus, I already had blades to be used. I was already impressed with what I had got for the price; a neat travel pouch and a seemingly good quality razor. Putting the blade in the razor was relatively easy, as you can see in the video - though it took me a few attempts at first to make sure the blade was level. After a few shaves, I already feel I have a reasonably good technique but I think previously using a safety razor and already knowing my hair growth patterns helped. The blade seems to stay in just fine, and the quality of the razor as a whole seems good - especially for the price. I don't have any negative things to mention about this product, it's been a great introduction to cut throat razors and I have no plan to move to a different razor any time soon.

This item is described as comes with one blade. Which it doesn't. Looks like a nice razor but the description should be changed..

I purchased this razor on a whim after having a beard trim at the barbers and wanting to achieve the sharp lines when shave at home. The mechanism to change the blades feels fidly at first, especially as there is a blade involved but once you have the hang of it its pretty effortless. I've found that in use, the chamfered edges at the side of the blade holder act almost as a guide and prevent you from using the razor at too shallow of an angle which might increase the chance of a nick. i've used the razor for around 6 months now and there has been no wear or damage to the paint which has left me pleasantly suprised as I'd expected the gold to flake off within a few uses. the carry pouch appears to be very well made and has prevented the razor from springing open and damaging things when it has been taken in a travel bag. I purchased this razor expecting to use it once and never touch it again or to enjoy the results it would bring and buy a more luxorious version shortly after, however as a first time user there is nothing I can imagine a more expensive razor could do that this one wouldn't. Overall, I'm delighted with this product and would recomend it to anyone thinking of moving from a safety razor to a cut throat.

I use this to cut hair very happy

Really well made and feels a quality product. Beginners need to practice as I've already had a few nicks but I'm determined to persevere as it's excellent for precision trimming around your beard and tasche. Doesn't come with blades for legal reasons but as I'd got loads of double edge blades it wasn't a problem. Excellent little razor.
