Frustrating, Unreliable, and Completely Avoidable
I am extremely frustrated with the transition of the Amazon Business card from American Express to U.S. Bank. American Express was excellent to work with. My experience with U.S. Bank so far has been the complete opposite.I never received the original replacement card after the switch to U.S. Bank. When I called to report that, I was told another card would be sent and that it would be expedited. Based on that information, I have been checking for it every day and expecting it to arrive.Today I called again and learned that the replacement card was actually sent by regular mail around September 1 and could take up to 15 days to arrive. When I explained that the previous representative specifically told me it was being expedited, the representative basically told me she didn’t know what the other employee had said or what was “in her head.”That is unacceptable customer service. If I had simply been told from the beginning that it could take 15 days, I would have understood and waited. Instead, I was given inaccurate information and have spent days wondering why an “expedited” card still hadn’t arrived.Meanwhile, my Amazon purchases have been getting declined, including purchases I urgently needed, such as study materials for an upcoming exam and food I expected to receive today. Then I learned that the card was being declined because I had missed a payment. The problem is that I have never been able to create or access my U.S. Bank online account because registration asks for my card number — and I still do not have the card.I was also told that U.S. Bank would not notify me about the missed payment unless I had previously set up alerts. Again, I cannot set up alerts because I cannot access the account without the card. The representative could not even set those alerts up for me over the phone.I had automatic payments set up with American Express and never had this problem. I immediately paid my entire statement balance over the phone once I learned what had happened, expecting that would restore my ability to use the account. Instead, I was told the payment will not clear until Tuesday, so I still cannot use the card. The whole situation is circular and incredibly frustrating: I cannot access the account because I do not have the card, I cannot set up alerts because I cannot access the account, I was not notified that a payment was due, and now my Amazon purchases are being declined because of a payment issue I had no reasonable way of knowing about. To make matters worse, when I switch an Amazon order to another credit card, items that were available for same-day delivery with the Amazon Business card suddenly become available only for delivery the following day. So I am losing Amazon card benefits because U.S. Bank has failed to provide me with a working card.I understand that transitions between banks can have problems. What I do not accept is failing to send the original card, giving me incorrect information about expedited delivery, providing no practical way to access my account without the physical card, and then penalizing me for a payment problem that resulted from that lack of access.Amazon and U.S. Bank need to fix this process. So far, switching this account from American Express to U.S. Bank has been a major downgrade in both service and reliability.

A Positive Update: Great Help from U.S. Bank
OCT 5, 2026 UPDATE- U.S. Bank saw my initial review and a representative reached out to help resolve my account issue. Within a couple of days, the problem was completely fixed, and I can now access my account online with no issues. Francine was especially helpful. Very professional, and had excellent customer-service skills. She truly listened to my concerns, assured me that she would help, and followed through exactly as promised. If you are having an issue, I recommend contacting the main office directly. Based on my experience, I believe they will work with you to find a solution. Now that I have online access, I can see and take advantage of the great offers available, including discounts on office supplies, travel, and other stores.OLD Review Aug 2026........This transfer from AMEX to US Bank has been bizarre, and I honestly can’t understand why Amazon would move its customers to what feels like a lower-tier banking experience. I had never even heard of US Bank until my account was automatically transferred over. The card arrived pre-activated, which was fine. The problems started when I tried to log in, assuming my information from AMEX would carry over. I also went to the US Bank website to set up an account and ended up on the phone with customer service for at least an hour. The login kept erroring out, and I eventually learned I was supposed to have a PIN, but no one could tell me what it was.The bigger issue: I was told the phone number on file needs to be updated. I’ve had the same number for over 10 years. When I asked what number they had on file, they couldn’t tell me. When I asked to update it over the phone, I was told I had to do it in person.. at their nearest branch in North Carolina. I live in Texas. That is absurd!!I hope Amazon wakes up from this nightmare partnership soon, because they are going to lose a lot of loyal customers over this. Such a shame.

BAD AT PROVIDING SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS
the new US BANK merge was the worse idea ever especially for business owners. When it was linked to American express the prime business card would show on your business American express dash board showing all points and transactions in one location. This NEW US BANK has the worst customer service. I've been on hold and forwarded to 6 representatives because each one mentions it cant handle certain situations. I received 3 business credit cards with my name on them. why do i need 3 credit cards with only my name on each one of them ??? I understand employee credit cards but why all of them on my name ? I only have a card dedicated to me and my office manager. Then I get a text saying that I have a minimum payment due of $35, I go online create a profile and it shows $0.00 I call customer service and they said that i have a separate business account and then I'm not able to log into it and they couldn't provide me my account number. I then talk to their tech support and fix the business portal to view all cards and I tell them " I need to cancel all these extra cards you sent out that are repeated" they couldn't help me and sent me to another department. I wait another 30min on the phone then for them to tell me they cant help me its another department, then i wait another 30 min or so and they said that's the wrong department. I finally get a ahold of someone and they tell me that my balance is over $1000 and i ask "why am i not able to see that in my portal and they couldn't answer my question and forwarded me to another department...... AMERICAN EXPRESS WAS A WAY BETTER OPTION THAN PARTNERING UP WITH US BANK. As a business owner we don't have time to be on hold resolving these dumb issues. US BANK should have a department to solve all problems in one place instead of sending clients all over the place and at the end not providing any solutions.

Disappointing Transition from American Express to U.S. Bank
I was a longtime user of the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card and had AutoPay set up for years without problems. Unfortunately, my experience since Amazon switched the Prime Business Card to U.S. Bank has been frustrating. After the transition, I set up AutoPay with U.S. Bank, and the U.S. Bank mobile app shows that AutoPay is enabled. Despite that, I recently received notifications on several Amazon orders saying that my card issuer had declined the transactions because my account was past due. That was the first indication I had that there was a problem. When I checked the U.S. Bank app, I found no prominent warning or notification telling me that I had a past-due payment or that an automatic payment had not been made. Looking further, I discovered that although AutoPay is enabled, there was no AutoPay payment scheduled for September. The next automatic payment wasn't scheduled until October.I understand that the AutoPay settings from the previous American Express account did not automatically transfer to U.S. Bank. That's not my complaint. I separately established AutoPay with U.S. Bank. My complaint is that U.S. Bank showed AutoPay as enabled, apparently did not make a payment for the September billing cycle, and did not adequately alert me that a manual payment was required. Instead, I discovered the problem when Amazon began declining my business purchases. For a business credit card, this is particularly concerning. Reliable payment processing and clear notifications are basic requirements. A business owner shouldn't learn that a payment has been missed because routine purchases suddenly start getting declined.I had a good experience with the American Express version of this card and would have preferred Amazon to continue that relationship. So far, the transition to U.S. Bank has been a significant step backward for me.Amazon and U.S. Bank need to improve the transition process, AutoPay enrollment messaging, and especially notifications when an AutoPay payment is not going to cover the current billing cycle. Existing customers should not discover these issues through declined business transactions.

Excellent Customer Service!!
After writing a less than stellar review on the card transition, customer service reached out to me and assisted me in clearing up the confusion. Needless to say I highly recommend US Bank and hope to fo business with them for the foreseeable future...

Great as AmEx, horrible under US Bank
Recently Amazon's business credit card switched over from American Express to US Bank. While it was with AmEx I never had problems. There were no issues with payments, credit limits, fees or declined transactions. As soon as everything switched over to US Bank, everything started going wrong. US Bank tried to sneak in interest charges 4 days after a transaction. I've had multiple times where I've had to call in just to get them to approve a transaction, while there's plenty of credit available on the account, for routine purchases my business makes. Easy and convenient? Not a chance with US Bank. I've had to make multiple calls per week to get problems resolved. And the latest current issue is that they hold your payments for a week or longer before applying it against your account's credit limit. You make the payment, they take the money, but they don't apply the credit for over a week. Not great if you're making payments on things as your own invoices get cleared so keep your balance under the limit to continue to use it. They make it rather difficult to use it for business purposes. Clearly the way their billing, and pretty much their whole system, is designed its to cause the card holder lots of frustration and cost the cardholder money in interest and fees.If you're running a small business and want a great card to carry expenses on, avoid this one like the plague. 5% back on Amazon purchases is nice, but after dealing with US Bank for 3 weeks, I'm ready to close my account and shop around. 8 months of great service with AmEx killed by 3 weeks of US Bank.

Changed credit card companies with out advance notice
Just found out that Amazon stopped working with AMEX we never got notified of the change and received bills with late charges from USBank. I have never done business with this bank in the past. I tried to call AMEX to get more info and log into my account to make sure i have all the invoices and interest charges printed off for my business account and can no longer get access online or by phone. I would have paid the balance off prior now a new bank has my info without my permission and carries my balance. Not even sure if its the same rates i agreed to when I got the AMEX card for amazon business. We never got a memo mailed or emailed and never received the new card that was shipped months ago according to USBank . I cant even get into my new account with out new card to see if anyone has been charging.I need to clarify that this review was not ment for USBank or American Express. This is on Amazon they get the one star. I am changing the review to 5 stars for USBank they reached out and have gone above and beyond to rectify a problem they did not cause. Thank you US Bank

Worst customer service experience in my life from a trillion dollar company !
I have experienced the worst customer service of my life from a trillion dollar company.I spent almost two hours on Amazon chat and spoke with around ten different representatives. Instead of resolving my issue, they kept transferring me from one person to another. I eventually asked for a supervisor, but even the supervisor could not help me.I then called Amazon, hoping someone on the phone could give me a clear answer, but they could not help me either. My main concern started when Amazon changed my American Express card to a US Bank card without properly informing me. The card number also changed. When I later received an email from US Bank, I thought it was a scam because I did not recognize the card number and I did not even know that I had an account with US Bank.Because I was unaware of the account, US Bank charged me 44 dollars for a late payment.I then contacted Amazon because I have another Amazon Visa card and wanted to know whether that card had also been transferred to another bank. I simply wanted to avoid having the same problem happen again. After speaking with numerous representatives, no one could give me a clear answer. It is extremely alarming that a company as large as Amazon cannot provide its customer service staff with the information and training needed to answer such an important question about its own credit cards.Customers should not have to spend hours being transferred between representatives just to find out which bank manages their credit card account. This experience was frustrating, confusing, and completely unacceptable.
