You can definitely see some barrel distortion when there are rectangular shapes in the photo. But the distortion is pretty minor IMO. Like others, I get about 20% increase in field of view. Picture sharpness is a little degraded, but probably acceptable.You really have to attach the wide angle lens directly to the camera's filter threads (52mm threads in my case for an FZ300). If you use a Panasonic lens adapter like the DMW-LA7, you'll get very bad vignetting below around 100mm focal length because the rear element of the wide angle lens is just too far away from the front element of the FZ300's lens). If you directly attach the wide angle lens to the camera using the included 52-62mm step-up ring, you don't have this problem.Since there is little point in using the existing camera lens + wide angle lens for focal lengths that you can achieve with just the existing camera lens, IMO there is little reason to use the LA7 to attach this wide angle lens to an FZ300 camera. The main reason would be to take the added weight off of the FZ300's zoom motor. But since you most likely won't be zooming anyway, that seems like a moot point.

i took before and after pictures and there's no difference and the lens casing was visible in frame

Unmarked lens in an unmarked box too big - not 52mm. Looks great but can't use. Description says good for FZ300 but its too big. I want an exchange or an adapter.

JUST WHAT I WANTED. A wide-angle lens converter that IS NOT a fisheye. As others have mentioned, it increases the view by about 20 percent with almost no distortion. Some very slight darkening in corners that is fixed in post editing. Maintains a large degree of sharpness and is small enough to conveniently fit in a camera bag pocket. Beautifully made lens but severe vignetting and barrel distortion at an equivalent prime lens focal length of 20 mm make this lens attachment useless for my Lumix DC-FZ80.

This lens work great on my lumi fz300W the extra adopter rings that comes with the lens. GREAT for shooting homes.

The lens increased the field of view by about 20% which is exactly what I was looking for. However, there’s some minor darkening from the lens on the corners of my photos that I’m able to crop out and still get great photos.
