Senville LETO Mini Split Air Conditioner, Heat Pump, White, 9000 BTU

9K 110 volt LETO 2 full months of use MAY and JUNE midwest This is my first mini split i've purchased and i installed it myself. Super simple to install, buy the vacuum pump and gauge set off of amazon. I installed my line set down thru the a 2x6 wall and ran them thru a 3" sewer pvc pipe incase i need to replace and to protect lines in the wall (much cleaner look, but more difficult to hang indoor unit as you can't mount it and connect everything on outside of wall per manual). I did not have a problem with bending hi/low copper lines nor did i have any leaks, i just pressurized it when releasing refrigerant from compressor and sprayed my fittings, i did not use nitrogen. I am running this 9K unit in my new office addition on house that is only 100 sqft, so my unit will probably wear out sooner due to short cycling, but its so quiet and better than a window or thruwall unit so i don't mind. I have 2 thermometers on my desk which is directly below unit (air blows over desk and circulates off wall behind me and back), with the system set at 73 my range is within 2 degrees of that but 90% perfectly at 73 it fluctuates more when i leave my office door open to rest of house. I utilize the Honeywell/Resideo T5 and T10 thermostats between our 3 forced air HVACS, I am bummed i can not integrate this mini split in with those geofence settings, however the Alexa app i was successful in setting up geofence routines to control the mini split to change temps, i am not turning mine off completely, my away modes just increase cool temp by 5 degrees within 20 mile radius and 10 degrees within 100 mile radius for those longer trips. I've also purchased the Sensibo controller to see how it works (not impressed) but i do like the backup communication to mini split while away from house if i need it. I had never heard of Senville before looking at mini splits and after doing a year of research i settled with Senville as their parent company owns some great hvac companies that are known for their quality. I like this one so much i just placed an order for a 24K Senville Auro unit (better SEER rating and works when outside temp drops to -22 all this equals more money) to replace a 14K PTAC for our sunroom that can not heat or cool the room, and to help supplement the heat pump hvac on those hot and cold days. This unit in cool mode is CONSTANTLY BLOWING air. I like it because i keeps air circulating i guess that why people set their units to turn off while gone but i honestly don't care, but when you pick out a place for your unit find a place you don't mind constant air blowing during the summer months and where you want the heat during the winter. I can not speak yet on longevity nor operation in extreme temps, but am excited to see how it holds up. If you know how to change oil in your car and install an electrical outlet you should be able to figure this out and shouldn't be scared to install this yourself*, if you are unsure how to do electrical be smart and don't put yourself at risk. *Note: if you install this yourself you DO NOT have a warranty, they make this clear but just incase. Strongly suggest having whole house surge protector, i already installed one prior to installing the mini split, but i've read the board on compressor (outdoor unit) is usually what fails from lightening strikes and surges and is a pain to replace so keep that in mind. I'll update my review if i have problems like sub 5 degree F temps, otherwise if you don't see anything after a couple of years take it as a win.

First time installing one of these. Put it in my new office which is separate from the house HVAC on as part of my garage. Inside Install: The inside unit was a breeze to install. I had space inside the wall so my lines are run in-between the 2x6 walls instead of the outside. the white rap that goes around the lines is like tennis racquet grip, only sticky on the ends so I didn't use it. I used foil based tape to wrap everything. Outside Install: again, pretty easy. I used sakrete to make a 3x4 pad and then after it was dry used a hammer drill to set anchors to bolt the unit down. I got a exterior dryer vent at lowes for where my lines come out of the house(my lines are inside the wall) and foil tape wrapped everything. Charging: You do need a vacuum pump, gauges and mini-split gauge adapters. If you have that...this is a simple job. Luckily my dad had all the stuff I needed! Vacuum to -25lbs took about 5 minutes. It held -25lbs for an hour so I knew there were no leaks. removed the gauges and release the freon. instant cold air and VERY quiet. what I learned after the fact: -The wireless module is an extra purchase....not needed for me but would have been nice. definitely not work 100 bucks. -There is no fan eco mode which means the inside fan runs non-stop even in "auto" mode. You can't hear it at all and its a non-issue. The compressor only kicks on when it needs to cool or heat. -Nail Polish Remover will remove all the senville and Leto logo's from the unit so that is is just white and blends into the wall. -I have seen zero change in my electric bill so far and Texas gets HOT. -I thought A/C was hard, turns out...its not rocket science, just requires a couple specific tools. The quote from my local guy for a similar system was 3k(and this was NOT a mitsu)...this was much much cheaper even if it were to fail at a faster ratio than what the A/C guy proposed. -I quit fiddling with the temp once I got it where I like it and haven't touched it since. In my small 275sq ft office that is foam insulated with 5/8 drywall I have to wear a jacket with the thermostat at 76 degrees with the 9k unit. any colder than that its hard to be in here. Insulation plays a huge role...but this is a really efficient unit. Summary: easy, cheap, efficient, no brainer. Im sure there are much nicer systems out there...but this unit is doing its thing and that's all I care about. Update: The unit is still awesome 6 months later. Quiet and insanely efficient. Update 2: The WIFI modules are UNIVERSAL!!! Order this Wifi module for $29 -> PIONEER Wi-Fi Remote Programming and Access Module for Pioneer WYS Series Heat Pump Systems the Senville Leto Wifi module costs between 79-99 depending on the sales. After doing some research turns out all of these units are "midea" based units and here are many of the units that fall into that category (Hualing, Senville, Klimaire, AirCon, Century, Pridiom, Thermocore, Comfee, Alpine Home Air, Artel, Beko, Electrolux, Galactic, Idea, Inventor, Kaisai, Mitsui, Mr. Cool, Neoclima, Olimpia Splendid, Pioneer, QLIMA, Royal Clima, Qzen, Toshiba, Carrier, Goodman, Friedrich, Samsung, Kenmore, Trane, Lennox, LG, Electra). Installation was easy: 1. Downloaded the NetHomePlus app, created an account and had it ready to go. 2. Turned Breaker off to the Senville Leto Split. 3. Plug in the USB module into the lid of the senville (the lid opens up and it plugs right tin). 4. Turn break back on. 5. Open NetHomePlus, click add unit. (instructions online say you need to scan the included QR code. I did not, the app just found the unit and auto added the split, didn't have to do any of the "AP Mode" instructions) 6. the App configured the wifi, changed the units to Farenheight and I was done. Working perfectly. ----- Extra steps: I wanted to then add it into my HomeKit setup that im using with Hoobs(home bridge). In Hoobs(home bridge) install the Midea Air Bridge (1.4.1 at the time of this review) (https://github.com/hillaliy/homebridge-midea-air). 7. Add username and pass from NetHomePlus app into the config. The MideaAirBridge auto found the unit and didn't even have to configure it. 8. Add the accessory in Homekit and it will put a device in the room from the split. Still loving the Senville and now that I have it setup on wifi with HomeKit im very happy.

This is a great, high-quality product that functions well. I thoroughly recommend the Senville for quality and performance. The install is a difficult level DIY and should only be attempted after proper research and with proper tools. Physically installing the units is easy. Wiring the units is not difficult but is time consuming, especially accounting for running a dedicated 20A electrical circuit. Line set installation is more involved. I chose to hang the inside unit before attaching the line set because of how I chose to run the refrigerant piping inside the room and then straight through the wall to the outside unit. I made my own wall pass-through sleeve from 3" pvc to give a little more working space. The included sleeve is very thin and flimsy. Line set flare nuts MUST be torqued to spec. I had one nut that failed and had to remove, replace with an included extra, and reflare the connection when I found the leak during the first pressure test. I shortened the refrigerant piping at the outside unit to fit with no looping of pipes. I used an eccentric flaring tool to remake the connection after shortening. Next step of pressure testing with nitrogen MUST NOT BE OMITTED. You will need a HVAC charging manifold, special fittings, a micron vacuum gauge, HVAC leak test soap, a compressed nitrogen tank and regulator, and a vacuum pump. A competent pro installer will do this--but many HVAC techs skip the pressure test step. I pressure tested and found the bad flare nut leak, repaired it, and pressure tested again to 300psi nitrogen. This forces most air and water out of the lines. I left the lines on pressure, applied leak test soap and left the set up for over 1 hour. There was absolutely no leakage according to the HVAC manifold gauge. After pressure testing, a vacuum test was performed using a micron vacuum gauge to make sure all nitrogen, air and water vapor was removed from the lines. You will need special fittings as mentioned, to insure that the lines remain isolated from the pump after evacuating. I vacuumed down to 220microns and let it sit for 30+ minutes. The gauge remained well below 300 microns. (the standard is to remain below 500 microns). This step double checks for leakage and confirms removal of all gasses and water before releasing the factory charge into the system. Next, isolate the gauge from the system using the special fittings, and release the refrigerant charge from the compressor into the system. After a final check for leaks after removing all gauges and fittings, the system was ready to power up and test run. Note: the flare nuts are crudely shaped on the outside (seem to be cast, rather than machined) so normal open ended wrenches do not fit them well. You will have to use adjustable wrenches to adjust them when installing. Using a torque wrench on those flare nuts is difficult because of the non-standard finish and sizing. A $175 adjustable wrench head HVAC torque wrench (made by Yellow Jacket) would really assist here, but I had a standard torque wrench with crow's foot wrench adapters. I made it work... but that's not an easy way to do it. I doubt many techs carry the special torque wrench and will just do the flare nuts by feel based on experience. The test run of the unit revealed no leaks, so I wrapped up the line set at the connection points and finished the install. I used a line set cover flashing to protect the lines where they emerged from the outside wall. Zip ties where needed to secure the wrapping tape. Big HVAC type zip ties screwed to the wall to mount the indoor line set in permanent fashion. double checked the drain line was working properly without restriction by pouring water in the top of the inside unit and verifying full drainage. I left the primary drain line joint uncovered inside so I could have access if there was ever a blockage. The unit heats wonderfully, cooling is great, too, but I will have to confirm how that works on a really hot day this summer. You will have to run the cooling check on manual cool override if temperature is below 62º outside (it was cool here on the test day). The air output on cooling feels ice-cold. Spend the time and money to install it correctly and the Senville will serve you well, I think. If you are not comfortable doing it DIY, then hire a good installer. You will not have factory warranty without a professional installer according to Senville. I chose DIY anyway after researching the process and finding than some installers skip the pressure test. (Senville in fact does not insist on a pressure test in the install manual.) 22 months in, I could not be more pleased. Keeps my garage/workshop comfortable year round (outside temps ranging from 7° to 97°) and has very little impact on my power bill. Just keep the filters and fins clean for best efficiency. So far, I have not needed to clean the blower wheel. No problems with the condensate drain at all.

Easy install and a nice quiet unit. Gets the room down to a comfortable temperature in minutes.

I installed this mini split by myself. Based upon my experience with the product, the installation, the installation manual and customer care, here are my opinions. THE PRODUCT: Although I have only used the mini split in the A/C mode a few times, I find the outside unit to be quiet. Not silent, but quiet enough to have a conversation near the unit without raising voices. The inside unit is very quiet and that was key for me. Both the inside and outside units appear to be well made. I had only 2 minor issues; 1) the sleeve that is inserted into the wall to feed the line set, drain hose and signal cable to the outside was just a bit short. I have 2x6 exterior walls. That, coupled with the exterior plywood sheathing, siding and interior drywall meant the sleeve came up short, but not by much. I was able to extend the end with some duct tape. 2) the long drain hose that attaches to the indoor unit’s short piece of drain pipe was too small. I had to stretch out the end and really work to get it over the short drain pipe. And, just to ensure it did not slip off, I used a small hose clamp to secure it. By contrast, the drain hose that connects to the drain plug on the bottom of the outdoor unit was a perfect fit that clearly was well designed. THE INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE, MANUAL and CUSTOM CARE (aka customer support) This is where things get a little complicated. The installation was not all that difficult. All it takes for a successful installation is the right tools, average skills and patience. I did encounter a problem when attaching the line set (two copper pipes). I torqued the small (1/4 inch) line per the specifications in the supplied, hard copy manual and it ripped off the end of the flare. I contacted Customer Care on a Friday morning. I hoped they would get back to me by the end of the business day (they are on the east coast), but they did not, and that was okay. But, when Monday afternoon rolled around and they had not responded, I contacted them. The representative that responded to my email had no idea what I was talking about. Clearly he had not taken the time to read the email and look at the pictures I had sent them on Friday. Once he understood my issue, we got it sorted out. It was not the best of experiences, but it was the exception. I had several other communications with Customer Care and they were all very good. The representatives were knowledgeable, friendly and competent. So, not wanting to repeat the line set problem, I asked Customer Care to confirm the torque specifications. They sent me specs that were different, lower torque settings, than what was in the manual. I googled Senville Leto Installation, and a found a copy online of the manual, and it did indeed have different torque specs than what my gar copy manual stated. I can not say for certain if i damaged the line set by over torquing or not. Perhaps the line set was faulty. Still, it makes no sense to have different torque specs for the same size copper line. One other issue with the installation manual. There are two drain outlets on the indoor unit. One on each side. A short piece of drain hose is connected to one. The instructions in the manual state “TO PREVENT UNWANTED LEAKS YOU MUST PLUG THE UNUSED DRAIN HOLE WITH THE RUBBER PLUG PROVIDED”. After a thorough search through all of the boxes for the rubber plug and a wasted weekend, I was told on Monday by Customer Care that the manual I received is a generic manual and the drain plug is not needed. As for shipping, the product shipped quickly and I received it well ahead of the estimated receipt date. It was well packed. The indoor and outdoor units were in separate boxes and packed into a single, bigger box. My final thoughts; I would buy this product again and I can recommend it. Installation would be easier and faster if the generic manual were updated or a Leto specific manual were supplied with the Leto mini split. I appreciate the Customer Care team. The service they provide is invaluable.

Got this system to supplement our central AC system for our bedroom... I love sleeping in the cold, and I just couldn't see keeping the whole house freezing just to keep one bedroom chilly at night -- so, I figured a mini split system would solve the problem. And it did! The system was VERY easy to put in, and with even just a little bit of AC knowledge, it's definitely a DIY project. You only need very basic tools with the exception of a vacuum pump & gauges and a flaring tool if you want to shorten your line set. Got it set up, connected my lines, ran my power, and within minutes it was putting out 49° air! The airflow is excellent, and it's very quiet. The indoor unit sounds like rain, and the outdoor unit is virtually silent. And the 9,000 BTU unit easily cools my large bedroom and master bath in just a few minutes! If you're thinking of adding a mini split system, I can't recommend this one enough! $700 to stop beating my central air all night in the Florida heat is a win!!!

I have been very disappointed with the unit overall. I'll talk mostly of the negatives that I wish I had known before buying. 1. The biggest thing I wish I'd known about this unit is that you CANNOT rely on the senville app or alexa or Google to be able to control it remotely. Alexa works sometimes but about every 3rd input from alexa causes the unit to freeze up and start beeping continuously. The ONLY way to fix it is shut off the breaker to the unit to restart it which means you cannot fix it remotely. This happens whether you are turning the unit off or on with alexa or just adjusting the temperature. This is a very very common problem and appears nobody has found a solution including replacing the wifi dongle and other components on the unit. I believe it is a software problem and not a hardware problem. This is a big deal to me because I really need the ability to set a schedule for the unit. You cannot set a schedule with the handheld remote. 2. Related to number one. There appears to be two different types of wifi dongles compatible with this unit. The unit sold here comes with a wifi dongle that ONLY works with alexa. It does not work with the senville app and it doesn't work with google assistant. This is a link to the other wifi dongle that should work with both google assistant and the senville app. I have not tried it yet and im hesitant since it is expensive and so many reviewers say it has failed them either immediately or after working for some time. https://www.amazon.com/Senville-Smart-WiFi-Kit-Android/dp/B07QJ6WP72 2. Installation. This is not an easy diy project unless you are a very adept do it yourself person. I have pretty good knowledge about refrigeration systems as I've worked on them in vehicles trucks and tractors. I have a lot of experience with construction and electrical wiring. I already had all the tools necessary for installation aside from an adapter for use with my gauge set. I still had a bit of a struggle with installation. The instructions are very unclear and missing important information. I couldn't determine which of the multiple possible mounting bracket types in the instructions matched the bracket that came with my unit(I'm pretty confident none of them actually matched and the instructions were outdated). So it was a struggle to figure out exactly where to drill the large hole through the wall. This can be installed yourself but it is really only for people who are advanced do it yourself type people with the right tools. And remember it voids the warranty if you install yourself! 3. It REALLY does not work well in extreme cold. I knew this before purchase but I wish I had considered this more. If the temperature is below about 15 degrees Fahrenheit it barely works at all and the heat output gets less and less the colder it gets. This is a limitation of all heat pumps but it didn't really sink in to me that when it is extremely cold the unit simply won't do the job and you will need a source of backup heat. This isn't a big problem for me since it is rare to get that cold where i live but just kind of caught me by surprise during a recent cold spell. 4. Unit is louder than expected due to vibration. Yes the fan is extremely quiet, but the unit creates a fair bit of inconsistent vibration noise at times. This could be because the outside unit is mounted on the wall very close to the indoor unit. It is annoying and not much I can do about it. Ive had to remove pictures on the wall near the unit because there is enough vibration to cause them to buzz as well. It helps for me to wedge paper into the sides of the unit where it vibrates against the wall but still a noticeable annoying vibration at times. 5. Conclusion. I gave this 1 star due to the extremely misleading or lack of information about the app and wifi control. I would not have purchased this unit if I had known about these issues before purchase because i have this unit installed in a remote location and the ability to control remotely or even just set a schedule was very important to me. With that said, it is relatively cheap and efficient and I could see why some people may give it a higher rating.

This mini split is fantastic. Install was moderately easy minus some obstacles I had with a deck and running conduit. The hvac gauges and vacuum pump I bought on Amazon were somewhat sufficient. Cheap tools for sure but effective. I had to pull vacuum twice as first time was not holding. I think there was moisture in the line on first test. Had to call customer service for a simple solution and they were great. English speaking and extremely knowledgeable. Overall, couldn’t be happier with purchase.

UPDATED: Running STILL on my solar after years and many bumpy miles!! .... Well, it's been running all summer on my solar/battery/invertor setup.. like I mean I just left it turned on AC all summer in the driveway/campsite/ whatever and I've had no problems at all. I put this on the back bumper of my Motorhome, and the head unit inside just right of my entry door. In normal mode, this will draw max 460w. And it's WAY WAY better than any 5000btu window air conditioner. Totally silent running, no vibrations, nothing. Mostly it uses under 250w when running after the room gets cooled off and it's just doing maintenance on the cool. Seriously, I can't imagine why every RV doesn't come with these. It's so far superior to every other AC. BUT.. the install is a bunch of work, Be prepared for some insulation, tubes, wiring, holes, filling, bolting, brackets, etc etc. The install isn't for the first timer or the faint of heart, but once it's all in, it's truly worth every minute of effort. And the heating function works amazing too! Super nice warm air from the unit inside, and the only draw back to the heating cycle is the outside compressor works at higher speed and watt usage goes up to over 650w when heating. (as well as TURBO AC mode). There doesn't seem to be a light duty heating mode, like there is with the AC modes. Love this thing. Never going back.

I ordered this unit to heat/cool a new 300 sq ft addition I’m building on my cottage. The ceiling is spray foamed and the walls are R22 Rockwool batts. We set this at about 75 and it keeps the room toasty. It makes zero noise inside and out. I had a pro HVAC installer connect it and I’m glad I did. He had the tools and knowledge necessary to correctly install it. I also bought the mounting brackets for the compressor. They work perfectly. This unit is a huge leap forward for us to keep this section of our cottage comfortable. I also have a fireplace in the main cabin so between the two heat sources we easily heat our entire building. If you decide to get one of these, you’ll be blown away at how quiet it is! EDIT: it’s now after the Thanksgiving weekend. The unit is continuing to perform beautifully. The combination of our fireplace in the living room and the Senville mini split means we can stay at the cottage and be comfortable longer. Really pleased… still!

I have had this unit through 3 seasons now and I am impressed with the fabulous temperature and humidity control for my microgreen room. I am very pleased with the affordable electric usage required to run this unit.

I have helped install a lot of these, not because I am a professional but because I purchased one many years ago and installed it myself. [Have purchased additional units since]. I called a 'pro' to evacuate the lines but was quoted a fee that was twice the price of a 'hobby grade' vacuum pump and hi-lo gauges. I purchased said pump and gauges. Following the Senville evacuation instructions proved to be very simple. I was so happy with the mini-split I of course told everyone that asked just what a great deal and high value the unit was. So when asked to help finish their installs I was only too happy to oblige. To date every single one has worked perfectly. So if you are looking for a high quality mini-split that is simple to install you can't miss with this unit. Even if you need to purchase a vacuum pump and gauges like I did or get a pro to suck the lines. Senville you have an excellent product and a hard to beat price, keep up the good work and I will continue to tell everyone they will find it hard to get a better mini-split.
