Works just as expected

This is such a handy quilting and sewing tool. It has a lipped 1/4" seam that helps mark a seam so easily. It's particularly useful for paper piecing. It saves a lot of time. I even use it to measure seams. The ruler itself it great quality. I have accidentally ran my rotary cutter into it more than once, and it has held up nicely. The transparent yellow allows you to see your fabric but also be accurate in measuring. It makes it all that much better. Definitely a worthwhile invest.

I've recently started quilting a few months ago and am slowly learning different techniques in order to make quilt blocks. One of those techniques is paper piecing. This ruler was recommended to me in order to make sure that you leave the 1/4" seam allowance when doing the paper piecing. It works great. It seems like an unnecessary tool when you can use a regular ruler to make sure you have that seam allowance, however this saves a lot of time as it has a small lip on the edge of the ruler where the 1/4" line is--so you just put it up against your edge and cut. No lining up the ruler to be sure you have left the right amount. Awesome, time saving tool for quilters who wish to try their hand at paper piecing.

If you make a lot of half square triangles this ruler is awesome. It butts right up to the seam making it so easy to cut a perfect 1/4" when cutting your squares in half. No more having to try to line up a ruler in order to cut your squares and sometimes having the ruler slip and cutting your seam. I can cut HST's in half the time it used to take me.

I just started paper piecing and took a class to do so where they required this ruler. I didn't think it would be helpful but I was wrong! So handy! You use it to trim the fabric on the pattern quickly and leaving the proper seam allowance. My only complaint is that the ruler isn't every wide so you have to be quite alert to make sure you don't put your fingers in the way of your rotary cutter. I've used it many, many times at home now and I'd highly recommend it!
