Really keeps water out and prevents ear problems when scuba diving
My doctor recommended I try some ear plugs when diving because my homemade swimmer's ear solution was drying out my ears. I was skeptical, but now I love these and hate diving without them. I dived 3 weeks in Malaysia, not always the cleanest water, and had zero ear issues. Now my husband uses a pair along with several of my friends. They do make it harder to hear on the surface, but are OK if I pull them out a little. Underwater, I feel like I hear better and clear my ears better. They really keep the water out of my ears. They also stay in really well, with or without a hood.

JBL Spearguns Reusable Hydro Seal Aqua Ear Plugs
I wear them while surfing; they do the job, don't fall out, keep the water out. Just make sure that they are in correct. I have had more expensive one, these are better.

These are invaluable
I'm an adult with tubes in my ears. For a while I used the ear plugs my ENT sold, and they worked well. Eventually maybe the heat warped their shape a little, because I kept getting water in my right ear, which would result in a massive infection with pain, hearing loss and drainage. I live in Florida and swimming is a huge part of our recreation time with the kids, so I really needed something that would securely keep water out. These have worked wonderfully. I've been using them for swimming and showering for a few months, and have had any issues. I took off one star because they are hard to get in sometimes, and they get a little uncomfortable after having them in for a while, but overall that shouldn't keep you from buying them because they are worth it.

Great for open water swimming
I used to use the silicone plugs and they are ok. THe problems were first that they need to be clean and need some fiddling to fit your ear. Don't try taking them out and reinserting while in the water (to hear someone better) and they can't be cleaned after dropping them. I tried a few different vented plugs that would allow me to hear in the water but the other brands stuck out from the ear and got caught sooner or later (on kelp etc) and pulled out. The jbl hydro seal sits inside the ear so it can't easily be knocked or pulled loose but is very easy to take out and reinsert and to clean. The size refers more to the external part which fits under the folds of the ear. My ear canal is small but the exterior is "average" so the medium fits perfectly. The ear plug does not 100% seal out the water but it prevents it from flooding in and I am told that is what is needed to prevent damage from cold water and bone growth. I've been using these for 1.5 years and after about 9 months the first set got a little stiff and brittle so I replaced them. Also there is a dedicated left and right so if you are prone to losing things you should have a full spare set. TO recap -good for swimming -allows you to heard sounds and voices around you -a no snag easy to use fit -not a perfect waterproof seal but sufficient to protect the ear -size is determined by exterior portion of the ear -read instructions to understand proper fit, it is different than the usual plugs

Lifelong ear infection sufferer
I have been very prone to ear infections when diving my whole life, and I love to dive so I've dealt with swimmers' ear a lot. Swimmer's ear which progresses into ear infection if I don't take a break from diving under water after a day or two like clockwork. This product does exactly what it says it does. I lost the first pair out of my swim shorts they just floated away. Bought them again instantly. Before these I used doc pro plugs and those are great, but they only delay swimmers' ear because they still let a bit of body temperature water inside of your ear so you can equalize, I'd say docs gave me extra 5 days. Whatever invention the makers of these say they came up with to create the barrier magic, it just works, these ones don't delay swimmer's ear these completely have put a stop to swimmer's ear, and the fear of ear infections for me is completely done. I'm very much reliant on them now, I'll probably buy extras in case they stop making them. Until someone else comes up with something better which I doubt it, these are it for me. I've equalized with these to around 50 feet no problem freediving, and they're so comfortable you almost forget they're there perhaps I got lucky with sizing on the first try.

Great for scuba and snorkeling
I always had trouble equalizing one of my ears and gave them a shot due to the affordable pice. I read about them helping ear equalization specifically in colder water. In layman's terms, they seem to limit the amount of (cold) water hitting your eardrum at once and seem make it easier to equalize by keeping your eardrum warmer and therefore more flexible. Once in a while they become loose, but I also do not force them in very deep. Had no issues using them for Scuba up to 90ft and could equalize very well. very comfortable, you almost forgot you have them in. Also come in handy for noise reduction if you are on a smaller boat with a loud engine. I liked them also for snorkeling, since you don't fell like constantly having waves and water splashing against your ears. Sizing is as expected, if you have earbuds with exchangeable rubber pieces you probably already know which size your typically go for. I was scared of loosing them but they stay pretty well in your ear, just need to push adjust in the ear channel once in a while. Keep them clean after each use and I'm sure you get some great use out of it. Storage container is useful but can be a dit flimsy. I wouldn't have minded a more solid plastic container to keep them safe over time, but then again can't complain at that price.

Very close but not 100% for surfing
I ordered a medium pair to begin with and they seemed a little loose while using them. I then ordered a second pair large and they were a little too big. The pink plastic seemed to be the part that was too big on the second pair. I use the med pair but they seem to still let water in. I didn't see anything that said they wouldn't let water in so i can't say if thats normal. I got surfers ear and have suffered with it for a while so i really need something to help. Ordering and receiving were awesome. no complaints there.

Very impressive
Works very well, love how easy and great they work. Equalizing is easier now and not getting water in my ears has solved my problem with the muzzled hearing after a dive.
