The lessons are easy to follow and makes learning very enjoyable.

Alright, first thing is expectation management. If you have not used the Pimsleur Method before, it is basically spaced repetition of rote memorization within a simple scenario (male to female conversation). Simple to use, and provides a great foundation to build off of with other materials. This Basic Course consists of the first 10 lessons to the Danish course (5 CDs, 2 lessons per CD). If you purchase the "other" Pimsleur Danish course, it may include the full 30 lessons and some reading material. Those courses are upwards of $300; this is inexpensive for a reason - fewer lessons, but same material nonetheless. Today, language apps work great... but Pimsleur existed on cassette tapes (remember those?) and audio CDs long before smartphones. Lesson 1 (regardless of language) will have you speaking simple words you will use constantly during daily civic interactions in your chosen culture. "Excuse me," "do you speak English," "are you an American?" are just a few of the pieces learned in the first 30 minute lesson. You will not catch everything the first or second time around, and that's okay. I like the Pimsleur method for a few reasons: 1) simple expectations in lessons; 2) easy to access for me at local library; 3) every language scenario starts out the same, so I can glean important words quickly. A good recipe for success is rote memorization, good starting vocabulary of 1000 words, listening to the target language (online radio stations or TV programs), and speaking the language. Pimsleur is only *one* part of this puzzle. Pimsleur switched to an online subscription method - I'm cheap, so I search out the audio CDs at libraries or used copies on Amazon. You do you, boo... and perhaps one day we'll have a conversation in a language other than English. The one star knockdown is due to the "typical Pimsleur method" - same script, just different language. It might get wear on your nerves, but remember the course is foundational. Boring repetitions of inane phrases. Like every conversation you will have today in English. Stick with it and you will succeed.

Not good. A very limited range of vocabulary and does not cover what I would say are the basics for travel, e.g. food, shopping, transport, accommodation. Also too fast for beginners to get the correct pronunciation.
