I am nobody, not a medical doctor, not a nutritionist no more than a hobbyist and my answer reflects one old lady's grandmotherly opinion.  The 25,000 IU is a fairly maximal high dose, of a fat soluble vitamin, retinol, and for this there is such a thing as acute toxicity, long term bioaccumulation or loss of bone density associated with severe overdosing.  Therefore you should not be recklessly mega-dosing yourself with this. I don't propose that you should never exceed the recommended dosages printed on the bottle. If you are not currently suffering a serious nutritional deficiency, you might possibly even take one of these pills only twice a week as a light supplement, a tiny nutritional boost, possibly only on Monday and Friday.  Fat soluble vitamins will stay in your body for a long time, you don't need to take it every single day, it is stored and retained within your liver.  According to my research this is made from from fish liver oil, (cod, saithe, haddock, pollock) Retinol derived from fish liver oil is a fat soluble compound, a good quality supplement known to be beneficial when consumed in healthy, recommended dosages. That being said, more of a good thing is not always better, just follow dietary guidelines and don't go insane recklessly mega-dosing yourself with fat soluble vitamins. RECAP: My advice is to take a pill twice a week because the strength on this is the 25,000 IU bottle. Its a good value to buy this, just scale yourself back on the frequency of your dosing, not every day.

I ordered mine on March 29, 2013. The containers I received did not have an expiration date. However, they did have a "Best By" date of 4/2016. I hope the this helps.

No, it is not. It is not safe to supplement vitamin a at all. Do not take this. You will regret. It, if not immediately, then years down the road. Will have long lasting negative effects.
