Follow the directions, water, and you will have grass. My dog tore up my backyard grass wise, and just looked terrible. Bought this bag, spread the seed around. Watered often, recommends twice a day. Got a fair amount of rain after I laid the seed, so that may have helped. About a week in you can see sprouts, around that two week mark it was growing well. Patchy, and seems slow. But it does grow. Can't control how it grows or patches. As for weeds, your outside, you may get weeds. It happens. I'm satisfied with the product. Will eventually buy another bag or two to cover a few other areas.

This stuff really works! You have to spread it correctly and cover with a layer of good soil. Water daily until is starts to sprout. Very green and thick.

It’s a mixed bag. If the seeds color is green and not yellow then you’re good to proceed. First bag I got was yellow and it did not do anything to my lawn. Will need to follow directions but it works well. My lawn is toward a darker green in color. Try to puncture some holes in your lawn before you throw the seed and water twice a day until it reaches 2 inches tall and your lawn will be green in no time.

Had a bag of those sitting in the garage for a year…decided to just throw it down and see what happens. Well, it sprouted. I didn’t even take care of it, so I can only imagine the results if I knew it would work. Bought another bag, a timer, and a new sprinkler. The sprouts that came up were a vivid green. I can’t wait to see the results with a new bag. I was impressed.

Edit: changing my review as seed started to germinate after about 3 weeks. Not excellent results by any means but not 0% like original review. They sprouted better in the shade areas than the sun. Seeded almost 2 weeks ago with two 5.6 lb bags. Raked areas, put down seed, covered with "lawn soil." Watered daily in the spring (no extreme cold or hot temperatures). 0% germination. Like literally not one sprout with two full bags put down on three different lawns in my yard (back, side, front). Wish there was some way to return but obviously not.
