Why do I need to cut it if there is spade circle hooks?

I bought this item and cut the cable down to the length I needed to wire it to my door bell and reach the power socket, I also replaced the spade circle connectors for ease of connection to the door bell once cut. It still works perfectly.

What is the width, height and depth (excluding the pins) please.

Appologies for my last answer The power supply is approx 3 inches square and the lead excluding the pins was approx 2 meters long and easy to fit

Do I need to remove the battery connection?

No, just connect to the two screws at the back (in any order) the battery remains in place. Full and simple to follow instructions came with the transformer.
