Organic Lotion Making for Beginners: A Step-by-Step Guide

More Butter and Beeswax Lotion Bases vs Emulsification lotions
This is a great book for those who are making lotions/body butters at home and are literally brand spanking new at making moisturizers as the book says "for beginners".... BUT... These are more body butter based vs "liquid" lotion. These recipes by definition are still considered a lotion, but when I purchased this book I was hoping for the lotions that are more based with oils, stearic acid and emulsifying wax where you have to do an emulsification process such as heating the waxes and oils to a specific degree and then water and vegetable glycerin to the same degree and then stick blend the 2 when both reach a certain temp, that's when the magic happens and the both combined make that "white" liquid look that lotion is known for. This book does NOT have those types of lotions. It can be misleading for those who do want to make those kinds of lotions vs body butter type moisturizers with beeswax. I looked to see if I could see a sample recipe but it does not give one.The recipes this book calls for butters like Shea, Cocoa, Mango & Coconut. The oils are Almond, Avocado & Jojoba. One of the recipes calls for a "light oil", if you are new at making lotions/body butters you are going to wonder what to use. The only wax I see used in this book is beeswax.Soap Queens (Bramble Berry) site has great free lotion DIY recipes with the emulsification process if those are the kinds of lotions you would like to make vs body butters with beeswax.
