Game Genie Mega Drive / Genesis Code Book (Game Genie Code Books)

I purchased this Game Genie code book to have when I need to use cheat codes in my Genesis video games. I wanted a printed book that had all the codes released by the maker of the product & this has them all in on book. The quality of this paper back book is excellent & has clear print so it will last for ages. These Game Genie code books are also available for the SNES & NES video game consoles so you can purchase those too if needed. I highly recommend these Game Genie cheat code books because they are an easy way to have your Game Genie cheats codes available when you need them. These books are so worth the money & also who doesn't like to cheat in video games when you need to?

Like the title says, all the games that I could remember is listed in here. I like the fact that it’s updated as the one I had was from 1992 and it has the black cover. Thanks for whoever it was that made this an ebook. I’ll be getting the others for what system I have a working game genie. Thanks again for this one.

This is just the thing to have if you still like to play Sega Genesis Games, like me. I don't like to call it cheats, but choose to call it helps instead, because that's what it does! I do recommend it.

Really cool book to reference when gaming. This is what we used before the internet so it kind of adds to the retro charm of it all.Like other reviewers said this is a bigger book than you would think. Its not a small paperback size its more of a magazine size. Not the flashier of books but it does the job.

Excellent book.

While being fully aware that every single code in this book is available on multiple websites dedicated to cheat codes, I wanted a physical book I could just open and thumb through when playing games, and also scribble notes in (e.g. which codes work, which codes are worth trying, missing codes, etc.).I can confirm that not only do these codes work on on an original Megadrive, they also work on the Analogue Mega-SG, either with an original Game Genie and original carts... or with the Mega Everdrive v7.There are a few caveats though:1. It’s almost entirely for US games. This doesn’t affect me as most of my Megadrive games are in fact Genesis games, as I have a UK console with a 60Hz region mod switch. But if you’re a UK collector with mostly UK games, then this book isn’t for you.2. It’s missing some essential “Master Codes”. These are codes you need to put in before picking a specific cheat, otherwise you get a red screen when you start the game. This is because some games run a checksum check at boot to make sure nothing’s being tampered with. One of the games I bought this book for is Contra: Hard Corps... the master code for that is missing. Fortunately, there is a website called gamehacking.org where you can get missing master codes (including Contra).3. It by no means includes every Megadrive/Genesis game, that would be unrealistic, but some relatively high profile games are missing, such as Rocket Knight Adventures, Thunderforce 4 (aka Lightning Force), Shadow of the Beast, Red Zone, Gynoug (aka Wings of Wor) and Dynamite Headdy.So with all that in mind, you should be able to judge for yourself whether or not this book is for you.

Such retro fun

It doesn't tell you, but this book is actually for the American codes. Very misleading, considering this is listed on Amazon UK. Exercise caution.
