This is a great product. I took a 7 day trip to the boundary waters and it was a great addition to my pack. Instafire had been my go to product for fire starting, but I thought I would try a tin of this. I am glad I did. The location I had to make my fire was up off the ground and the instafire would fall to the ground and was not very effective. The pyroputty could be formed on the kenneling and attached to it. This was a great feature. I was able to start a fire with wet starting materials in a short time. PyroPutty is now my go to and will be in all my packs for my backcountry trips. Pros: It’s compact It’s light I can put a tin of it in my VSSL Cons: None that I have discovered as of yet

Highly flammable. Kinda like the old "Sterno". Maybe same "fuel" but in a more stable putty form? I bought some water-tight metal pill capsules, wrapped dabs of it in scrap fabric and stuffed it in -- fits in your survival pouch nicely and can easily give you 2-3 "starts". I note that the fabric gets damp and in turn can start a fire (but maybe not from just a spark).

Shiping was very quick with the standard free shipping. I like the durable metal cans that I can shove in my pack. The 2 cans I recieved were scratched and small dents. The can defects will not impact how the product works. I have not used this producy yet in an outdoor enviorment yet as I have purchased this for emergency survival pack when hunting and backcounty sking.

I bought two winter mix Pyro Putty's to keep in my survival gear after a recent close call in the outdoors. The putty arrived quickly and the can seals up tight which means it shouldn't leak onto other items in my pack. Seems to light quickly and easily. Overall very happy so far. I will check on it at end of season to see if there was any drastic degradation while it sat in my pack. Cool stuff!

I plan to make my own fire starters using cotton balls. I am not impressed and bought several cans. I used this when it was very cold and it takes a while to get the putty lit.
