Da moderne Motherboards keinen S/PDIF-Stecker mehr haben, brauchte ich TOSLINK statt Coax, um zum AV-Receiver zu kommen. Das Kabel funktioniert gut, keine Tonaussetzer o.ä. weil der Stecker den Kontakt des Lichtleiters nicht durchgängig sicherstellt(wie man es teilweise von Toslink-Berichten kennt). Was aber schon ein bisschen nervt, ist, dass TOSLINK scheinbar keine Sicherung hat, wo es einrasten würde. Es hängt da einfach locker hinten drin und es ist mir in den letzten 3 Jahren schätzungsweise 5 Mal passiert, dass ich gar keinen Ton mehr gehört habe, weil das Kabel einfach hinten am PC rausgesprungen ist: der steht unterm Tisch und da kommt man schon mal mit dem Fuß an den Kabelsalat. Gewöhnungsbedürftig für mich als Coax-Nutzer war auch, dass das Kabel relativ starr ist. Ich hatte schon mal eines, das vom MD-Player zur Stereo ging, aber das war nur 30cm lang und sehr dünn. Insofern ist es schon ok, dass es so ummantelt(Kunststoff-Mesh) und starr ist, weil es ja auch quer im Raum liegt. Ansonsten aber super.

It worked as intended. it feels like a high quality premium cable. Thick, rigid and heavy. A good cable, snake oil taken out of the equation, simply has to be thick and well isolated, also good contact connectors on the ends. this checks all the boxes, there is not much more to it. all claims of "superior sound quality" are just nonsense. a good cable has good transmittance or low impedance , good isolation, firm contacts. and that is about it. Don't fall for marketing for idiots.
