Would i be able to wet this down and form it to a mold and keep its shape when its dry?

NOOOO!!!! DON'T BUY THIS FOR WET MOLDING. If you ask my opinion don't buy this at all, It's oil-tanned and it is not good leather. Doesn't burnish well and doesn't stitch well, doesn't wet mold and isn't worth it. What you want it full grain veg-tanned leather.

Question 2

Is this the outer layer?

"Outer layer"  generally means "Full Grain."  That means the side you could see while the cow was still alive.  That means you would see all of the grain and damage done to the hide during the cow's life.

If you can't see the grain and scares it isn't full grain.  It is from one of the splits of the hide.  If it's leather grade is "Genuine Leather", it is the lowest grade and the smooth side has been processed to be smooth.

I couldn't find any grain on he leather and sent it back.

Question 3

Is it normal for the brown to easily scratch off the leather? Is it a malfunction? I got leather from here and my nails scratch the brown off.

Depends on how bad it scrapped it. It it simply made a mark but did not cut it then yes. You should be able to literally move the leather around the scratch. Because it’s pull up leather there are oils in the leather. Push your finger up from the underside around the scratch and you will see the leather lighten up at first. Keep doing that all around the scratches leather and it will even out. Also if it’s a different kind of scratch I would first see if rubbing a bit of your own skin oil on the scratch and rub it in. Usually that will fix it. Try wiping your finger on a greasier spot on your face. Usually around the nose or forehead. Then rub that into the scratch. It should take it out. There may be a dark spot for awhile until the leather soaks it in. I do this all the time. Both I mean. I hope this helps you. Take care. Cheers
