Zinus Metal Box Spring with Wood Slats /7.5 Inch Mattress Foundation/Sturdy Steel Structure/Easy Assembly, King

We really appreciated how easy this frame was to assemble. The directions were clear, and all of the pieces fit appropriately. The ratchet tool was included which was a nice surprise. The slats are connected to each other, and all you have to do is unroll them. The slats easily attach to the frame by Velcro. We like the cover that was included, and it seems thick and sturdy. I’m pleased that our top mattress is now four to five inches lower with this frame, and I don’t have to hop up to get in bed anymore. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and can definitely recommend this frame.

I ordered this Zinus Metal Box Spring with Wood Slats to support a new hybrid mattress. The wood slats are wide and sturdy and provide more support for the mattress than the other model box springs with only 2 inch wide metal slats. The distance between the wood slats is about 3 inches so this meets various mattress manufacturer requirements. The box spring is 4 inches tall which is a plus because the bed will not be so high as most mattresses are now 14 inches or thicker. The construction is all metal (except for the wood that goes across). The entire thing is covered by the nice fabric cover that is white. Well worth the price. The product can be assembled in about 30 minutes and includes the tool necessary. Can be assembled by one person.

We transitioned from a box spring to this item. Our box springs was quite old and this item has been hands-down a huge improvement. I'm quite interested in whether the longevity over a decade or more exists but I would be willing to buy another one every 5-10 years if we had to because it is just such a solid product right now and works really well and was pretty fun to put together! Thanks to other reviewer's comments, I was anticipating the confusion on which way to put the cover on. Here's my attempt at clarifying the issue: The zipper surrounds the head AND foot and 1 "side" of the frame. It is understandable that people would assume the zipper should surround BOTH sides and either the head OR the foot but that just ain't so. Line it up properly along one side for success. The directions were super easy to follow; all the pieces' connections were numbered; all the screws were packaged nicely; the Velcro and staples to properly/evenly space the slats were an excellent idea; there was even a really handy tool included to install the screws quickly and easily! My #1 reason for replacing my box springs was to eliminate the constant squeaking sounds. Mission accomplished! Getting into bed or moving around no longer has a vast array of squeaking noises. It's funny the things you can get used to; I still keep expecting my bed frame to make its noises every time I sit down but it NEVER DOES now! There is a foam/rubber piece running down the entire length of the middle part of the frame adding additional sound dampening (I imagine). The sides and their Velcro attachments never wiggle nor make Velcro ripping sounds. This is working out great for supporting our considerably heavy memory foam mattress; I was a little bit concerned that the slats would be too far apart or the wood too weak for the heft and weight of the mattress + people but no problems so far. If it were easy to get the cover on and off, I would be doing so just to see how much movement getting in/out of bed and/or bouncing on it causes the wood slats to "give". But since the cover is on, I have no idea. Maybe in 2 years we'll break through one or more slats not realizing the stresses we were constantly placing upon them but I currently feel like that is unlikely. No creaking or other stress-related sounds so far! The cover looks nice if you aren't inclined to cover the cover. Hope you are able to enjoy it, too! * 2024-02-29 Update! No changes whatsoever. Actually very impressed with this box spring. It's not your traditional box spring; I think it's actually considered a bed foundation. Anyway, I have this furniture set (on of those real wood sets with the glass detailing that everyone hates but I still obsess over) that I've held onto since I was in high school and for years, my custom-ordered foundation was wonderful untillll a few weeks ago when my movers snapped the steel frame (which is kind of funny). Anyway, I was looking for the exact same foundation when I found out that the one I had was custom ordered and the company is no longer in business (very fml moment). But, after some digging, and reading countless blogs about the best bed foundations (boring), I came across this brand. So, at like 2 am, I decided to just say eff it and order this one. And I'm honestly so glad I did. It's very similar to the one I had before with the steel frame and wood slats, which means I get great support, no sagging while holding up my HEAVY mattress, but also just a bit of flex so it doesn't feel like I'm sleeping on concrete. It's truly a wonderful nights sleep. The assembly was really straightforward (especially after disassembling my last one) and took maybe 5 minutes (but I tag teamed it with my boyfriend because tightening the bolts did take a minute). It also came with a little bold tightener thing that was such a NICE touch. The only thing that was not so great was that the frame was just a tad shorter than my mattress, so I ended up just placing it to where a bit of my mattress hangs off the end. It was also a bit small width-wise, so we had to kind of carefully place it in my actual bed frame.

We needed a new Cal King boxspring for our guest room. I called around a few local mattress stores to get quotes on how much it would cost to get a Cal King boxspring set delivered. Most quoted $299-400. I was dreading the process because those boxsprings are huge and pretty cumbersome. Then once they were delivered, I'd have to lug it upstairs to our guest room. Then I decided to look into Amazon boxspring sets. I knew the new thing was metal boxsprings that come in a smaller box for assembly. There were a ton of options but I decided to go with a brand I'd heard of (Zinus). After reading the reviews of a few Zinus products, I decided on this one because the set up video looked very simple and the reviews made it sound like putting it together was a seamless process. Got the item delivered and was prompted a few times by Amazon that this product would need a confirmation code that had to be given to the driver/delivery person. I guess they require that for products that cost a little more. The item was delivered by two guys. I guess it's a heavier product and they take turns with driving and carrying heavier items. The delivery guy seemed to carry the Zinus box effortlessly and made it seem very light. I asked him, "Is it heavy?" and he said it was not. But when it was my turn to bring it in, it was definitely a lot heavier than I had anticipated. I think it's like 70-80 pounds? (Guess that shows you how strong those Amazon delivery guys are!) Set up was awesome. So easy. Everything was very well labeled and it was actually a fun process putting it together. The reviews made the boxspring cover seem like a hassle or problematic, but the cover that my Cal King boxspring came with only went over the top and sides (no bottom). I guess that might not be for everyone's liking, but for me, it was perfect. I have the boxspring directly on the carpet, so I didn't need the bottom side to be covered. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone who needs a boxspring that's less expensive than local mattress stores and easy to put together.

I'd buy this again and recommend it for the right circumstance. I bought this to use with an 8 inch memory foam mattress on a Delta/Simmons crib with full size bed conversion kit (it's annoying that the kit can't support a mattress on its own, but that's a separate issue). I wanted a low bed for my three year old to easily climb in. Assembly was very easy. The instructions had no words, but none were needed because all the parts were number coded. Fit end #1 into slot #1, etc. The metal parts fit VERY well and the bolt holes were perfectly aligned. There was even a hex key ratchet to make tightening of the hex bolts easier. The wood slats were in two sections with the wood stapled to velcro straps which attached them to the metal frame. You just unrolled them and made sure the velco straps were taut. The frame and slats seemed really sturdy to me. I sensed no issues when I sat or laid down on the bed. I completed assembly with no help in about 30 minutes without rushing. Getting the cover on was the most challenging part, actually, but it wasn't a big problem. Having a second person help with that part would make it really easy. The width fit very well into the bed frame--maybe half an inch of slack. There was about 1-2 inches of slack front to back, but that does not matter. It's probably better to have some slack than a tight fit. I liked that there are wood slats instead of a fully metal frame to potentially have some spring-like tension and "give" in the frame. Also, the distance between slats can be an issue for memory foam mattresses. This isn't a problem in this case, although the completely metal version of the frame may have too much spacing between slats for a foam mattress.

I can't say enough good things about this box spring. First, I had no idea that there *was* such a thing as non-standard box springs, and was pleasantly surprised to find so many options available. I went with this particular company because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and am happy to report those aren't just so much smoke being blown. From start to finish, this item was a) easy to put together, b) showcased quality construction, c) had great instructions, and d) included little touches that made me say "Why aren't more people doing this!?" Just as a couple of examples: they included a *ratcheting* hex wrench to make it easier to tighten a couple of the harder to reach screws (and it's a nice one that I plan to use whenever I get the chance). Also, the places where pieces need to match up (e.g. where the header and footer needed to attach to the side rails) had the same number on them. If the numbers match, you know everything is oriented the right way - brilliant! I've made a *LOT* of flat pack furniture in my day, and this was such a welcome "quality of life" move. I tested my bed out last night, and heard no creaking or squeaking (and I tend to toss and turn); if anything, my bed felt more solidly supported and comfortable with this box spring as a foundation. I would 100% purchase from this company again, and would recommend them highly to others.

I’ve never owned a box spring before in my life, but I can say that this was such a pleasant first experience! Yes, it does come in pieces and is not at all assembled when you receive it. However, the parts are well-labeled and thoughtfully packaged: - shipment packaging wasn’t excessive, but it still protected all of the goods. - the bolts and tools for assembly were well-packed in their own packet. We’re not talking about in bags that could be torn open or loose in the box and you have to figure out what sizes they are. These were in a sealed flat packet like you would buy at the store, labels next to each bolt size, a mini ratchet wrench included (I’ll be adding it to my tool box!) and they even included extra parts. - all of the joints are numbered so you can easily follow along with assembly instructions. - assembly instructions are clear with diagrams and numbers that correspond with everything included. It’s also fairly lightweight. I assembled this with my parents in about a leisurely 20 minutes because we figured might as well use all three sets of hands as a family holiday project (they gifted me the box spring). But I could have easily assembled and moved this onto the bed myself (female/early 30s) in under 30 minutes. I’m on night three of sleeping in my bed with the box spring and there’s no creaking or squeaking whatsoever. It’s also very supportive for my Lull mattress. The full size I ordered fit into my bed frame perfectly. I would highly recommend this for people living in smaller spaces (city life!) or renting with the potential to move in the near future because this can be so easily assembled and disassembled. My last mention is how thoughtful this company packs their stuff: they included three blank greeting cards that can be used to send simple hellos or thinking of yous to friends and family with just a hint of branding on the back of the card. So cute!

Have been using it from past 6 years. Where my children jump all day long. Very durable and good quality. Will recommend.

This is the second Zinus bed I get and I will definitely be a returning customer if I ever need to change my bedframe again. It arrived in perfect shape, not a scratch. SUPER easy to assemble, and no flaw whatsoever in the build of the frame. Just as advertised by the manufacturer, this bed makes ZERO squeaking noise. I was happy with my previous 14" Zinus bedframe, but I needed to change it because I got a new mattress that happened to be 15" high, which required a lower bedframe for me to be able to get into my bed without feeling like I'm "climbing " into it!! The bonus with this frame is that it can be used as a spring box (with the fabric cover) or as a bedframe, in which case it has a modern and neat look. The only downside to using it as a bedframe is that it doesn't have anti-slip pads on the bottom so if you worry about scratching your floor, you should think about adding a carpet underneath or come up with another idea. Oh and did I meantion that this bed has a sturdy feel to it and the wooden flat slats are perfect for heavy mattresses like mine. The distance between the slats is small (2.6 inches) and the slats being flat, they don't leave marks at the bottom of my mattress. I got it on sale for 200$, so bonus!!!

Sturdy. Easy to put together. Cover think white cannot see black frame through. Amazing worth the money even tho I think $200 I paid was alot but I shopped around and nothing compared. To cover being included which are usually $30-50 if you buy cover seperate.

So far I am really impressed. Everything showed up in excellent condition. It was so easy to put together but it still felt very sturdy for the metal frame. The wood slates were great and they attached really easy with the velcro. Everything fit together perfectly. My husband and I were able to get the frame together in about 20 mins. The cover is a really nice cover. My only issue was it was very hard to tell which way it went on. We kept laying it on top thinking it went one way and we would try to put it on and it didn't work at all (it was the wrong side). We kept trying thinking it had to be the right side. After two failed attempts we tried the other way and it went on like butter. No problems zipping it up the zipper piece did fall off once we finally got it on but we pulled pretty hard when we tried to put it on the wrong way. Wish there was a better way to identify which way it went on. Other than that it is sturdy and holds the mattress!

Zinus products are excellent. We paired the 4 inch box base with one of their 10 inch foam mattresses. This is very well made, easy to put together ( the included torque wrench was a nice touch ). Wood slats all Velcro’s together for easy installation. Fits a queen bed frame perfectly.
