I am under doctor's orders to be strictly gluten-free and dairy-free. I am someone who loves chocolate, including chocolate bars, and I spent many years in frustration at my lack of affordable chocolate bar options. Finding chocolate bars that were gluten-free or dairy-free was fairly easy, but not both. My husband stumbled across the Joyva Halvah by chance and brought some home for me to try. They are dairy-free and gluten-free, even though they're not marketed as such, and they are DELICIOUS. The next opportunity I had, I went to the store where he found them and bought 8 more. This became a weekly ritual, and then in my frustration at having to do this weekly, I sought out bulk options online and found this one. This listing for a bulk amount of Joyva Halvah has been my guilty pleasure and my daily morning pick-me-up when dealing with my incredibly chaotic life. On the very rough days, I'd have one midday or evening too. It's been in my subscribe-and-save for months, and I hate seeing that, as of the time of my writing this, that it's out of stock. I did find they melt some in shipping, but sticking it in the fridge first thing firms up the chocolate outside nicely. Obviously, I do love the chocolate, but I also love the Halvah center. It has an amazing texture that melts in the mouth. I think I like the texture as much as the flavor, and I love both. I really, really hope Joyva restocks this listing for chocolate covered Halvah bars. They are my favorite chocolate option, and I miss being able to order the bulk supply.

My dad was so excited when I surprised him with these! He used to get them from Brents but he is very excited that he can now buy them online. He said they taste perfect.

Great product, if only Amazon could manage to ship without destroying it. This has always been a favorite. Not everything ships well though. Especially in an envelope. Joyva does a great job with all of their products. I'd recommend buying from a store though. Minus 1 star for the shipping issues.

excellent choc covered halvah, almost as good as it used to be. good dark chocolate. freezes very well. but don't have it shipped when its hot in your location.

Great product

We used to get these as treats back when I was a kid back east, ...back when they were crescent moon shaped... and bigger!! I would find a batch locally every once in a while, and be in a "nostalgic flashback heaven" of my childhood days with these treats! Somehow, the product has changed over the years, but this batch was very dissapointing.... The chocolate coating did not survive the cross country trip from Florida to California in the middle of summer. (I should have thought about that before ordering!) Not only was it melted and coated the inside of the wrapper, the chocolate lost it's temper and never became solid again- even with refrigeration! It was like it was coated wth chocolate fudge syrup- gooey, sticky and smeared everywhere. The halva itself was either pretty old-or also reacted to the heat during transportation. The consitancy was like a more solid, sweet lumpy oatmel and it crumbled easily and didnt cut smoothly with a sharp knife. The corners and ends were hard/chewy and sticky (kinda like a "bad" malted milk ball that gets soft and chewey rather than staying airy and crispy) and it was not the usual halva inside- which is normally a smooth yet granular, crinkly consistancy. This stuff wasnt. There was no expiration date on the packages, so couldnt tell if it was fresh or expired merchandise. Would I buy it again? yes-probably would try buying it again- in the cooler weather- or buy more locally (cant seem to run into it locally, but I havent really tried too hard!) Will contact seller to discuss disappointing condition and revisit this review later... ************ FOLLOW UP ************* Was contacted by the seller and was given a 100% refund and an apology. It was very much appreciated. Even tho this purchase was a 1-star bust and a major disappointment, I would give the seller a 5-star rating for customer service and great business ethics. Thank you...
