Imperial Tool 370FH Triple Head 180 Degree Tube Bender, 3/16”, 1/4”, 3/8”, and 1/2”

I've been buying tools for more than 20 years, but this is the first time I feel sufficiently inspired by a product to write a review.The tool came ahead of schedule, beautifully packaged and in pristine condition.I say this because it is rare these days to receive a tool so well presented and packaged. For a $50 tube bender, this may as well have been an Apple computer product!As for the tool is elf, at first I was a little skeptical. As pretty as it may be, it felt a little on the light side; I guess that it's cast aluminum. However, it proved itself to be up to the task.The project was to make a frame for a sailboat line bag. I had chosen a heavy wall (0.0863) stainless steel tube (also purchased from Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XNAKKK/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), that is perfect for tapping with a 3/8" fine thread tap (ID is almost identical to the recommended "O" size drill bit for this tap).The tube bent (relatively) effortlessly, with no kinks or marring of the surface. The tube is annealed, so it's the right kind of tube tube to use for bending. But for such a heavy-walled tube I was pleasantly surprised at how well the bender handled it.Right bender to bend this particular tube, and much cheaper than other benders ($200+) recommended for bending stainless steel tube.

This is a super nice bender, you can get some that are a little bit more compact, but this can do pretty much any size you would want to do for most things all in one unit and it’s really easy to use. Excellent tubing bender, plenty of leverage for bending 3/8 stainless tubing. Only issue is that the bending radius is too large for some applications, trying to bend fuel lines to work with a Holley Carburetor and Fuel Pressure Regulator is more difficult due to the larger bending radius. Not a fault of the tool, just something for a potential buyer to be aware of. If the bending radius had been 15/16" for 3/8" tubing, the job would have been much easier. Very smooth bends, no kinking, used on 0.028" wall and 0.035" wall stainless tubing.

This tool is very well made, feels solid, heavy duty. Worth every penny even if only used for a single install. I needed clean 90 degrees bends for a ductless AC install, needed to bend 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch AC copper lines. And this tool made the bends flawlessly. One thing I would suggest would be to practice the bends on good condition scrap pieces first. Better safe than sorry.Would recommend if you want to make clean bends to soft copper lines and don't want to break the bank purchasing a tool to do the job. Highly recommend 👍🏻👍🏻

I am changing my review because after bending about 15 - 90 degree bends, it is broken. First, the handle hinge pivot broke. It is like a big rivet, and the flared part just slipped through the hole. I replaced it with a bolt, but I still can't use it because the little adjustment brace end split. This prevents it from locking into position for the different size tubings.In short, after a little bit of use, it is garbage.See the attached pictures.---------Here is my original review:This is a sturdy, high quality, American made tool.Easily bends 3/8" .035 wall seamless DOM steel tubing.I also bent some 1/2" .049. I recommend mounting it to something sturdy for this, because you might need two hands. It did make nice clean bends.Read the instructions, and keep the top (sliding) shoe lubed and the lower curved shoe clean.

Best tubing bender I have ever used. As close to mandrel bent tube or better. Tight radius, copper, steel lines I tried it on with perfect results. No more bending a little at a time and repositioning the line. Bend to 90 deg in one motion. Or `180 deg one motion. You can even go slightly past 180 no problem. Except once you go past 180 you can't take it off without unbending it a little. The tool has the deep pocket that you know makes it a good bender. you can see it in the side view of the tool.

Ease of use. Works on a variety of tubes
