Don’t know how I went without it so long!
Excellent and very efficient. Only takes a few minutes to get most of the water out. If you let it sit longer, it will make it very compact. There are 3 “levels” of pressure, you can adjust as it gets smaller if needed depending on what you’re going to use it for. Super easy to clean. Doesn’t leak and makes it easy to pour the liquid off without making a mess.

Best Tofu Press Ever!
So very happy to own this! It does an amazingly effective job so long as you have strong hands, which one needs to put the rubberband-like cords on the sides. This sturdy little press was a great price and so easy to clean with no parts to lose. It beats hand pressing in a paper towel by a mile.

cheap. simple, and saves so much space!
i wish we had gotten this sooner, it really makes pressing tofu and paneer so much easier! its inexpensive and works really well, although its a bit tricky at first to get used to setting the rubber bands with just one person. if you have mobility issues this probably isnt the product for you, since it takes a fair bit of strength to get both bands stretched and then pop them on at once. if you do one side first then the other, itll sort of squash your tofu on the one side, which isnt a huge deal but could make it crack if youre looking to get perfect cube cuts. you can keep adjusting the bands down as it presses, depending on how dense you want your end product. the biggest plus of this though, is how much space it saves in the fridge. the fact that its got a tray built in to catch the liquid is so nice! other presses still make you have to set something under them to catch the liquid, so unless you have the perfect sized plate, youre still taking up an odd amount of space in the fridge and worrying about it kocking off of it. our fridge is small, so its really great that this press means we can stick is wherever theres room and even stack it on top of something else without worrying about liquid running off. so far weve done both tofu and paneer. it fits a standard sized tofu block snugly, so the first little while of it pressing you probably want to stay on the loosest band until it compresses a bit. for paneer, we use a recipe for a whole gallon of milk, and it was just sliiiiightly too much for the press. it fit inside with a slight dome, so we just set the press part on top of it and stacked a can on top for a few minutes until it had drained and compressed enough to let us fit it on properly with the bands. its still so much better than how we used to make paneer though, and it shapes it really nicely so you get a perfect dense block of paneer for cubing/slicing. the only issue we have had is that in our firs tuse, when going to put tension on the bands, one slipped out of the sort of plastic tube/hinge its in (hard to describe, but you can see it if you look at the third picture of the listing where they close up on the handle and rubber band). it was easy enough to pop it back in, but it has me worried that as we use it the tension will cause the gap in the housing bit to eventually get wider and have the band slip out more easily. i think i mightve just been stretching it at an odd angle, but im going to keep an eye on it. honestly since it was only $23, im not too bothered about having to occasionally replace it since i know we will get a lot of use out of it.

A good piece of equipment
This is my first tofu press, as I have never used tofu before. This press is well made and easy to use. However, instructions it came with the Press state the tofu can be pressed for 4 hours up to overnight. I tried this, and when I went to slice the tofu it was very crumbly, and I lost a lot of the tofu due to much of it just crumbling away. I learned from other sources the 15 minutes to half an hour is pretty much standard. When following those guidelines I have excellent results. This press is well made, reasonably priced and I can recommend.

Update and comparison with two other tofu presses
Update 10/23/21: Still works like a charm. No issues with wear. Original review: For anyone interested in a comparison between this tofu press and two others sold on Amazon, here's my take. I'm not that thrilled with the tofu presser -- looks like two small cutting boards with wing nuts and springs to do the pressing. It does the job of getting water out, but squishes my tofu out of shape and leaves it with cracks. No bueno, if you eventually want to cut nice little squares or slabs from your pressed tofu. Also, it requires a dish under it to catch the water that's being squeezed out, which makes it a real estate hog in the fridge. The Tofu Xpress works like a charm. I love it, and I've had mine for about 6 years with no problems. It's very easy to use. I must admit though, I worry about possibly breaking the handle like things that are used to hold the presser down. I'm very careful with mine, because if just one breaks, my press will be useless. Because I'm a vegetarian and eat quite a bit of tofu, I wanted another press, so that I could press more than one slab at a time. I did not want to shell out another $55 (with shipping) for the Tofu Xpress. I decided to try the Tofuture, which at $30 is still pricey, but $25 cheaper than buying another Tofu Xpress. I used it for the first time yesterday, and as far as I can tell, it does just as good a job as the Tofu Xpress. The tofu keeps its nice rectangular shape with no cracking. I end up with a nice dense block of tofu. The Tofuture press seems sturdy enough, and the rubber band things seems like they will hold up for quite some time. If you're on the fence about which tofu press to get, I'd get the Tofuture and save a significant amount of bucks.

WORTH IT
Great purchase! Takes the hassle out of preparing tofu, and it's held up for a while. A great gift for the vegetarians in your life. Easy to clean and stores pretty compactly. Note that manipulating the bands can be a bit of a struggle. If you have issues with hand dexterity/strength, this product might be kind of difficult to use.

Tofu press
I am new to incorporating tofu in my diet. After learning that water should be squeezed out, and there were such things as tofu presses, I took a chance on this one . I love it. Not as fancy as some others I saw, but I wanted something simple and small. Very impressed with this one. It works just like it was supposed to, and takes up little space. Very happy with this purchase.

美味しい!
Has become a near daily essential in my kitchen. Works perfectly with a halved 450gm block of tofu. Only feedback is make one twice as long to fit the full block. Love your work.
