every little step: my story
I could feel honesty in the realities surrounding Bobby’s life. I recommend this book for anyone who is already married or has plans of marrying - to give you heads up on what may happen if you allow your external family greatly interfere in your marriage.

Enjoyed and learned so much
My big brother Derrick Reed has danced for Mr. Brown his entire adult life. I know Bobby is a good soul, because of how much my brother loves him personally and professionally. God Bless 🙏🏾

It seems like it's taking me a long time to finish it ...
It seems like it's taking me a long time to finish it but I really don't want to finish it. What it lead me to do was to go back and watch "Being Bobby Brown and little of The Houston's". There were some things in the book that lead me there. There were also some details that lead me to some of the video's and some family interviews that's on Youtube. Before I started reading what Bobby, Jr. said, I was feeling that there weren't much interaction with him and Whitney well at least on the show, then I read his part and all I could say was WOW. I also just want to say that I love LaPrincia and her strength and how she interacted with Bobby K. I never knew Landon has such a beautiful voice. I never took a book a part piece by piece like this one has lead me to do (I think because Bobby is from my hometown Boston, MA). People view entertainers as being different from people in the real world and actually they are not, they bleed and they breath just like us. I read a lot of autobiography's because I love to see the world they lived in and see how different it is from ours. The biggest difference is that they are in the media so every little thing they do is all over the tabloids for people to see. Drug addiction in entertainers have been going on for many a many a years. My heart goes out to that whole segment of Bobby's life. I love and will always love Whitney. I'm sure it's so hard when you want to be one way but because of the media you have to be another way (in one part of the show, she actually says 'can't I just be me"). It's like a split personality or like Beyoncé, she calls it her alter-ego. AGAIN VERY GOOD BOOK. I SEE WHY IT'S A BEST SELLE

Every Little Step, worth the read...
I would give it 3 1/2 stars. It was an ok read but it started off veryvery slow. I did not care for the interludes throughout the book with comments from friends, bandmates and family members. At times they were distracting and would have been better served written in Bobby's own voice. He did not write anything we did not know about those 1st NE days. That was dissapointing. I wanted to know what would make them keep touring week after week and not bringing home any money. What happened when they went to school? What happend on those tour buses? Their interactions with fans. I know they have stories. The section about Janet Jackson was brief. He did not really talk about how they started dating, just jumped into their relationship status. His behavior towards her though was disgusting. He confirmed some things for me about why he married Whitney. As to their marriage most of what he talked about, we knew already but Many things he glossed over or omitted altogether. I wanted to know how he felt when his mother in law came to the door with police to take Whitney away. Did they actually send Bobby Kris away to live with other people for a while. Why?The decline of thier marriage is where he starts getting real. Though he did not say why specifically, he left Atlanta with nothing to go sleep in a car, He does talk about the waste, the loss, the addiction he and Whitney had to each other. He got real describing the loss of his parents. Then he got even more real with the loss of his daughter Bobby Kris.He took us into the hospital room and walked us through that whole nightmare which he described as a special kind of hell. If you don't bleed for him their you just don't have a heart.Be clear, Bobby went through a lot. Much of it at the same time. He lost his mother, father, ex-wife that he was still in love with and his daughter all within a 3 year span while trying to stay sober. That. Is a LOT. Considering he is still standing and going strong, I'm super proud of him and am happy to have bought this book.He still has at least one more book in him. One dealing solely about his addiction to drugs, fame, women, and the lessons he learned and the road it took him down. . I think it could help some people.Jw

could NOT put the book down!!
i first wanna say, i'm a huge whitney houston fan. but i'll be the first to say i don't view her as a saint. and bobby tells one incredible story! freely admits to past mistakes and error in judgments. tells of his brief affair with janet jackson! (i never knew they dated!) and also what it was really like being married to both whitney the superstar and whitney the person. i won't spill the beans too much, but explains his side of their marriage, her passing, decision-making over the well being of krissi and finding happiness with his current wife and his children. overall, bobby has had one eventful life! i was a big fan of his back in the day and def. wanted to read his life from his own words. very good book! i read 90% of it in just 1 day!and a personal note to bobby: regarding your weight...you really shouldn't let that get to you. all of us look much different than we did when we were 20 :). you're not the only one...look @ adele, look @ garth brooks! that guy's never been skinny LOL! it's all about just being yourself, that was you back then, this is you now...and you're not that big!! :D but thanks for all the great new edition and solo memories! 'don't be cruel' is def. one of my all time fave albums back in the 80s! and great book! you should do a movie about your life ;)

Entertaining read but he seems... deluded.
As a Whitney fan I wanted to read this book with an open mind (and I did) to get his take on the relationship. The book is fairly well written but I had to take many of his statements with a pinch of salt. He stated he went into his marriage to Whitney with more money than she did? Not long after their marriage Whitney had to save his home from foreclosure so that was a lie! He also stated he only smoked weed and had never tried coke before he met Whitney... I don't believe that for a second. Also he states he NEVER did drugs around his daughter... he talks about cooking crack and snorting heroin in the family kitchen. Pretty sure his daughter will have noticed something! I don't mind anyone spilling their dirty laundry in a book, but tell the truth!

Good, not excellent
This account from bobby brown also features the point of view from his siblings and some of his children. To be honest, I found that a tad distracting. And while fundamentally revealing, I think he could have gone farther and answered more questions on his marriage to Whitney. After all, that's why the book will become popular.but overall not a bad account or storytelling. It's worth a read.
