Bondi Sands Express Self Tanning Foam, 6.76 Fl Oz

This is a winner. I am 67 years old and tanned easily and evenly in my youth. After cancer(metastatic melanoma) and ongoing immunotherapy treatments, I’m left with very little skin pigmentation and some splotches. I love wearing shorts and dresses but would not because of my super white legs which I thought made me look older. I’ve tried other sunless tan formulas that just did not work. My daughter recommended this and on my goodness it is fabulous. I followed directions exactly, even though I wanted to moisturize my very dry skin first, I did not. The day before use I exfoliated, shaved and moisturized. The next morning I applied the product following the instructions. I used a blush brush for hands and feet, which worked perfectly (Thank you reviewers for this tip). One thing I really like is how dark it is going on. I can see any missed areas easily. I left it on for about an hour and a half, then just rinsed my body in the shower, no soap, again following instructions. I knew the color would look light from reviews, so I didn’t worry. By nightfall I had a beautiful tan that was not blotchy. It was so even and pretty. The next day I moisturized using the gradual tanning lotion. Today I used my regular moisturizer and my tan is still perfect. I think I will use the lotion every other day that way I should not have any fading problems. The self tanning lotion did not have an over-powering odor to me, but the gradual tanning lotion has a semi coconut fragrance, which I found slightly unappealing, but it did dissipate over time. Also I found no transfer to my clothing. If you are older with dry skin and have had issues with self tanners before, just try this one. This product has given me confidence in wearing shorts and dresses again.

I have self tanners I’ve paid twice the money for and this is better. It gives a great deep glow that actually last and fades really nicely. It’s not streaky at all and it last for a week. Very impressed

I was using the aero express, which is a lot lighter than this and smells a little. I have used SO many self tanners (favorites Bondi aero express, Bali body express, rose & caramel). This is new to me this year and my new favorite. It is dark and super streaky going on. BUT it washes off streak free. I leave it on 4 hours but I wet a washcloth and wipe my hands, face, feet and elbows after two hours. It continues to develop after you rinse it off. It lasts me about 3-4 days before it starts to fade. It fades patchy around my bra line/ around my boobs. It’s a little difficult to get off but it fades fairly evenly and I start exfoliating around day 4, then redo the tan after 7 days or so. I am very fair skinned, cool tone, freckles. The tan color is not super warm (so not orange on my fair skin) which I love. It is nice and natural looking on the hands & feet which is fabulous. It did leak a little in the Amazon package but I cleaned it up. Highly recommend for new tanners, and all tanners alike. It is forgiving and beautiful. Also affordable! It also doesn’t smell almost AT ALL which I have never experienced with self tanners.

It goes on easy with a mitt and is odorless. It does have a greenish tint when you first apply it, but does not look green once applied.

I’ve been using the Bondi Sands Liquid Gold for several years now and while I love the smell, the green undertone (as opposed to yellow/orange) and the natural look of the tan, I don’t love how it would turn out- No matter what methods or preventatives I used, it would always come out streaky or blotchy (specifically on my feet and elbows). But I’ve tried soooo many self tanners and this is the only one that doesn’t result in an orange tan. Aside from Bondi Sands lotion and Bondi Sands oil (both products of which I absolutely love and those two don’t leave me blotchy/streaky. But those two are gradual self tanners. So I don’t use as often). So I was willing to overlook a few blotchy patches, if it meant having a natural looking tan and I chalked it up to user error (something I was or wasn’t doing correctly), even though I’ve been using self tanner for the last 10-15 years. However, it wasn’t until trying this 1 hour express (as I needed a tan quick), when I came to realize the opposite- I DO know what I’m doing! I was just using a product that wasn’t working well with my skin type. As I don’t have a single streak nor has this stuck to any dry patches on my elbows and I think I like the color even MORE! I also love the guide; as it’s much darker/easier to tell where I was applying it. The ONLY downside- I washed it off in about an hour and a half and I was originally super disappointed; as it all came off in my shower and when I got out, it looked like I hadn’t applied anything. However, as the day went on, it would become darker. The darkest being the following day, which I find to be a consistent factor with all the Bondi self tanners I’ve tried… They get darker over the course of a day or two. So I’m not sure if calling it a 1hr express is misleading or not; as you won’t be completely tan within that hour. But if you leave it on for the 1-3 hours, you will gradually get darker as the day progresses. As far as the smell, I actually love that self tanner smell and the gold one has that self tanner/beachy smell that would last several days and while this 1hr express does leave a bit of a self tanner smell, it’s not as strong as the gold label; which i consider a bit of a bummer. But some of you may appreciate that. So yes, I definitely recommend, if you have some time to let it develop. But if you’re looking for something that’s going to to make you look like you just got back from Jamaica within an hour or two of applying it, I’d recommend something else. As I don’t think this would live up to your expectations. Hope this helps!!

I had really high hopes for this self-tanner because it advertised as fragrance-free, and my skin is incredibly sensitive and easily reactive. Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. Despite being advertised as an "express" and "dark" formula, I left it on for six full hours, only for every single bit of color to rinse completely down the drain in the shower. It didn't give me a single bit of color. If you want even a hint of a tan, this isn't going to give you anything. Worse than the total lack of color, it left the skin on my chest bright red and irritated. Whether you have sensitive skin or you just actually want to look like you used a self-tanner, skip this. It's a complete waste of time and money.

I am no self-tan pro by any means. I have only used tanning drops and the tanologist tanning moose which both turn me orange. This tanner has only turned me orange if I applied too much on my hands. Everywhere else on my body, I have not experienced any orange. I like this tanner, the "guide" makes it easier to determine what has been covered and what needs more. As far as the smell I cannot smell it, I know some say they can but I cannot. I believe this tanner is easy to use, I also think it is beginner-friendly as I am new to self-tanning with a moose. After 2 applications I can determine that this tanner does last about 4-7 days. I have only applied 2 times from what I can tell it lasts long. My routine: - About one or two days before wanting to tan I exfoliate with either a glove or sugar scrub. I have bought exfoliating mitts off Amazon as well as sugar scrubs from Target. - After exfoliating in the shower I will shave as well. (shaving a few days before tanning prevents the tanner from dying your hair follicle pores) - Once out of the shower I apply aquafore to my knees, elbows, and ankles. This is the holy grail lotion I can find that will prevent orange dry patches. - Then I wait 1-2 days to let everything settle The day I want to Tan: - I take a quick rinse-off shower - Apply regular lotion like unscented lubiderm or EOS lotion to my knees, ankles, and elbows. - Let that sit for a couple of minutes then start applying the tanner! I recommend you use a gray towel to stand on when applying the tanner so you don't get any tanner on the floors or anything. Wear black clothes once done. once the tanner is dry you shouldn't have to worry about it transferring but it is always better to be safe than sorry. This isn’t exactly express! As an avid self tanner I was a little disappointed by the results of this Bondi Sands express tanning foam. I left it on for a little over an hour which was supposed to give me a “dark” tan according to the label. At first when I put it on I was super dark (from the bronzer in the tan), but immediately after washing it off an hour later I hardly noticed a tan at all! The only saving grace was that the tan slowly developed a little bit more over the next few hours. Still very disappointing for a tan that claims to be express. Still giving three stars since as far as tans go I liked the consistency, it was very easy to apply, and the smell wasn’t bad at all. Highly recommend using the Bondi Sands mitt for application. I think I’ll give it another try, but will be leaving on for 2-3 hours this time!

says keep on for 3 hours for the darkest shade kept it on 4 hours. after taking a shower it washed off like i had never put anything on complete waste of money. if you want a good product that actually does the job then stick to st tropez

The BEST self tanner I have used!! I actually prefer this to a professtspray tan. It always comes out so even and natural and not orange at all!!

Nice colour tan. This does work in an hour but it's a very subtle tan. I leav mine on overnight for the best colour and wash off in the morning. So it's great if you're in a hurry and can't marinate for 8 hours or just as good if you leave it on for ages!

I made sure to use this product a few times before writing my review so it would be both helpful and accurate (if it is, give it a thumbs up to let me know!). First try: I applied the tanner to my legs and left it on for three hours before taking my regular shower. Unfortunately, it completely washed off. I also made the rookie mistake of applying it with my bare hands instead of a mitt. Second try: I applied it after my morning shower, left it on for three hours, then rinsed with warm water until it ran mostly clear. This time I used a mitt (from another Amazon seller), exfoliated rough areas like knees and ankles beforehand, and applied a light layer of moisturizer to those areas to avoid patchiness. I made sure to blend it evenly—and I was really happy with the results! Third try: I followed the same steps as the second time, and again, it worked perfectly. A few notes: 1. The colour continues to develop over several hours, so I recommend applying it the day before you want to look your best. 2. There’s a slight orange tone, but nothing too noticeable—it’s a self-tanner, after all. 3. I’m not a fan of the scent. It does linger a bit after rinsing, since the product remains on your skin. Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind. Overall, I absolutely would buy this again! (The photo doesn’t quite do justice for how nicely the colour actually turns out.)
