Big?
Seems a bit large (size of aggregate) for a medium sized tree, but I’m still new at this. shouldn’t be hard to break it into smaller pieces though, if need be.

If this is medium, large grain must be softball sized
Not ready to use. Needed to be sifted for size. Of 14 quarts, 1 quart was fines (dust), 3 quarts were medium sized, and 10 quarts were large (>10mm). Softer and more debris present than other brands.

Nice akadama to add to your bonsai soil
Akadama usually makes up about 20-25% of my solid mix. This bag of Akadama seemed like a good value. I was able to re-pot several bonsai of various sizes and still have more than half the bag left.
