I got the three tines shown in the picture. You can bolt all three on, or two, or one. When I have to go through really compacted soil, I bolt on only one and make multiple swipes with it. A digging fork like the Tru Temper Spading Fork is also handy, I have one of them too. I also bought one of those loop hoes for the Hoss, the narrow one, which comes in really handy. I looked at the 2-wheel version, but really my single wheel works just fine. Buy the one with the pistol grips, not the plow grips. Mine were raw wood. I rubbed a couple coats of boiled linseed oil on the wood handles and let it cure for a week before you assemble it.

How deep can you get with the cultivator?

The deeper it goes the harder it is to push. I use it to break up 2 or 3 inches deep. But I mostly use the cultivator tines throughout the year to stop weeds.

Easy to assemble, well made tool great for any serious gardener!

I have been putting off getting a wheel hoe for a while now, mainly because I am cheap and didn't want to spend the money. It was between this one and valley oak tool company wheel hoe which is more expensive. I went with this one and am very happy with my purchase. I have only used this with the 12" hoe attachment (which I ordered seperately) and it works wonderfully! I am a home gardener and use this to clear pathways and beds. It is very well made and the instructions for assembling were clear and easy. I would recommend this tool to any serious gardener or small scale farmer!

Quality seems very good. The handles should be heavier duty. At this price it should be a bit more stout.

Not made for short people

I'm 5'2" and when using this product with the stirrup hoe the handles are at chest level, which is way too high for proper use. I can either work with my arms high or lower my arms and the stirrup goes too deep in the ground.Also, the handle bars feel like they're going to crack. For tye high price they should be made of better quality.

Top notch outstanding customer service

Great Garden Tool

This is a great garden tool..........I've used it setting up the garden and find it really does a great job. Easy to roll around and doesn't require a lot of strength to push it forward. Does a great job is preparing the ground. I us it several times a month between the rows to keep the group soft and weed free (well almost weed free). If you're looking for a helper for your garden - this is it.
