First, I will say that I really like Ideals products and have chosen them over other brands in this price range because of their long history and good reputation in the industry. This voltage tester has never let me down and is dual range so you can find active low voltage presence with it as well down to 12volts and up to 1000volts. People are complaining about it because you have to touch it to the wires and stick it in a socket for it to work. Personally, I do not have an issue with it working that way and the tip is clearly designed to stick in a socket. I have no issue having to touch the wire I am testing in my line of work since I am looking to find the hot wires which can be colored different depending on who installed it. I like it and will keep using it.

This voltage detector works well enough, if not a little slow. The HIGH / LOW sensitivity selector also works fairly well... however the light is abysmal. It is an LED lamp with minimal output, feels like a 1st gen blue LED from the the early 2000's-- worse than a key chain light bought this decade. The mute button is welcome. Big and bulky for little utility in the light function. I would not recommend this, it proved to me why the Fluke 2AC is the defacto-standard in most all technical trades.

Failed on two occasions to detect voltage when I knew there was voltage present, this is pretty much useless. Luckily use a voltmeter to properly check before taking any actions.

El material es de muy buena calidad, comparado con Klein. Prácticamente no hay comparación. Ideal es mucho mejor calidad en materiales, aunque las pilas suministradas son las mismas que Klein, no duraron ni 3 meses. Y ahora no funciona en la absoluto. Me sigo quedando con Klein.
