Update on locking gas cap
The spring broke and cap wouldn’t open. Discovered this after waiting in a long gas line. Drove up to the pump and the darn cap would just spin. Almost out of gas but made it to a mechanic who said I should take to dealer. Fortunately, dealer was close. $195+ and the locking gas cap is off and a regular one is on.

Worked while it lasted but wouldn't buy again
In total I had the gas cap for approximately 3 months and roughly 2 thousand miles. Product came with 2 keys (in case you lose a key), which I expect for this type of equipment. I bought it as I was worried my vehicle (2nd Gen Toyota Tacoma) didn't have a way to lock the gas and gas prices were up. After it broke I did not feel as if the annoyances and potential to leave me stranded it caused warranted be buying it again, that being said it worked while it lasted.Pros:-The gas cap had no problems sealing and and locking.Neutral:-It was a little finicky to lock/unlock about 50% of the time, but I could always get it locked.-2 keys came with it.Cons:-A drop from waist height and it shattered and was not able to be put back together, I had kept the old cap so I wasn't stranded.

$13 Gas Cap turns into $300-500+ Damages
I ordered this several months ago and only installed it less than 3 tanks ago so a few weeks total of actually being installed.Took it off fine the first time, 2nd time had to have husbands help as it wasn’t being cooperative.Today, 25 Feb, ‘25 I pulled into gas station to put my last $20 in and tried for 15 minutes to get the cap off. Asked 3 more people including two gas station attendants for help the following 30 minutes while my cash purchase timed out.None of us could get it to come off. Prayed and hoped that my husband could help again when he got home 3.5 hours later and he couldn’t get it open either. Will have to have it towed if it runs out trying to get to the mechanic to break it off somehow, pay for the demolishing, order new cap, and borrow/rent another vehicle $$$ in order to get child to school, meet critical medical appointments, and work. This is in theory an amazing product just an overall exorbitantly costly product that will end up with me paying 30-40 times more than the cost of the product. Disgusting quality especially for those already struggling to make ends meet in the first place.
