Most durable non-stick pan on market
We live on a boat and we often use a pan of this size with a lid for 80% of our cooking needs. We like the non-stick qualities of a pan and have owned a half dozen brands. None of the brands were durable. Typically a scratch would develop even with coated utensils. Once a scratch is there, it is no longer non-stick in that area and cleaning now becomes difficult. We've been through several pans to date, even an expensive one from France. We've wound up throwing them all away and considered going back to plain stainless steel which could always be cleaned, although with lots of elbow grease at times and pains with sticking. With that lead-in, I saw the Swiss Diamond pan advertised and was intrigued with the claimed durability of a diamond infused coating so I bought one from Amazon last summer. We have used it everyday, usually twice a day (breakfast and evening meal), and the coating is pristine. It really is durable, a great step up from our experiences with previous pans. The glass cover makes the pan useful for the main course at dinner, like a mini-oven as well as a fry pan. The top handle can be closed or open to keep the inside moist or not. We've had no problem picking up the lid by the knob even after extended cooking, the knob remained cool and with the knob rotated to off, no steam was coming out. However, there are some things to watch out for. As per our past experiences with coated pans, the two great enemies of long life are scratches and carbonization. The diamond infused coated has addressed scratches issue successfully compared to our previous pans - as mentioned before, the surface is still pristine. To prevent carbonization, just wipe the pan with a paper towel to remove all residue. Since the pan is non-stick, this takes about 10 seconds at most. Even residue that resulted from frying pork chops (for example) with very little oil leaving a heavy, black residue comes right off with a paper towel. If the residue is not removed and the pan is used again, the residue can become carbonized and will affect the non-stick qualities of the surface (our past experiences with other pans). In other words, the pan becomes scrap metal if you let that happen. So, spend 10 seconds, wipe the pan with a paper towel and it's ready for reuse. We are very happy with the product and will report back here after a year of use - but it still looks like new now even with twice a day use after 6 months.

This is your buy-it-for-life pan, the single best piece of cookware I'll ever own
This is the single greatest pan I have ever owned. Pros: - Nonstick has been bulletproof, I thought the 'diamond coated' business was all marketing, but this pan does not stick to anything - Weight of the pan is properly offset by the handle - I put this in the dishwasher all the time, and I see no signs of wear - The lid fits perfectly - It's got a little dial on the lid to adjust how much steam you want to let out - It's oven safe - It cooks *SO EVENLY*. No other piece of cookware I've ever used has been so even. Cons: - It is expensive, and the price looks to have gone up since I first bought it. This pan is just about perfect for me. It is my daily driver and probably gets more use than all the other pots and pans in my kitchen combined. I have cookware from All-Clad, from Le Creuset, from Cuisinart -- and while they all make very good products, nothing among them touches this pan. I think because the name 'Swiss Diamond' is not really a brand you think of when you think of good cookware (I'll be honest: I thought it was the Swiss Army knife company, Victorinox), they were able to design a pan that met needs rather than desires. You buy Le Creuset because it's good cookware; and because it is striking to look at, it imparts a classical French cuisine ethos to your cooking; in this way it meets both a need (good cookware) and a desire (design and historicity of the brand). This Swiss Diamond pan feels designed purpose-first; the attention to how the pan weight is distributed when held by the handle, or to how the lid sits on the pan and how much wiggleroom is needed so that it sits neatly without rattling. I've been using this pan for the past 3 or 4 years and I'll likely be using it for the next 30 or 40.

Best frying pan I’ve ever owned!
This is truly the best frying pan I’ve ever had. You only need a tiny drop of oil or even just a bit of water to cook, and nothing ever sticks. It heats evenly, is super easy to clean, and feels completely safe to use. The lid is a great bonus, and the fact that it’s oven-safe makes it even more versatile. Absolutely love it!

The best
This is my 5th Swiss diamond pan. I have multiple sizes. This particular size (9.5") I bought 3rd time. The previous two last for only 3 years, but even so, I still return to it because it's literally the best pan I've ever had.

Great design and exceptional quality THAT DID NOT LAST.
I have been looking for a good non-stick skillet. I've used non-stick skillets from All-Clad and Calphalon but they all had one problem: peeling of the non-stick layer. I saw an unused All-Clad skillet from their new line at Williams-Sonoma and it had scratches on the non-stick surface. I found what I was looking for! This fry pan is excellent! It is made in Switzerland. It is big. The outside diameter is 13" and the bottom is almost 9 3/4". It requires a large burner. I have a Miele electric cooktop which has a burner large enough for this skillet. I have tried it over a smaller burner and it worked as well. The food browned evenly over the surface of the skillet. The cleaning is easy. I only have a small issue with the lid. The lid assembly was easy. However, during washing water gets into the steam vent and then it comes out after the lid is dried. It takes few drying sweeps to avoid water streaks on the lid. Overall, I am very pleased with this skillet. I am looking forward to getting more skillets from Swiss Diamond. Update. May 2009. Zero stars. Like its predecessors from All-Clad and Calphalon, this skillet stopped being non-stick after about a year. It wasn't abused in any way: no metal utensils and no prolonged cooking of foods other than pancakes and fish. Yet, the center of the skillet began to darken first, than the rest of the skillet has darkened. I used baking soda (suggested by All-Clad website). It did remove some brown residue but the skillet is completely not non-stick, everything sticks to it even more. I am happy with a non-stick skillet from Circulon infinite line. I bought an 11" skillet at Macy's for $20 as a product promotion item. The best non-stick that I have is from LeCreuset. Unfortunately, the largest one LeCreuset made was 9" in diameter.

It works if you follow the rules.
I waited so I could use this and put it through the paces. I am giving four stars but with caveats. Having a high quality nonstick is like having gremlins, there are rules! Don’t ever wash with soap, if you cannot just wipe it clean, let it sit and dry out and the residue pops right off. Much like cast iron, oil oil oil - rub, don’t brush. Never use heat above medium. I do love it, no warping, no peeling. No scratching. I will buy from his company again

Simply THE BEST; worth the price.
Discovered Swiss Diamond through a consumers magazine where it was rated #1. We had tired of cheaper pans with uneven heating, warping bottoms and non-non-stick surfaces that wore out. This is the best pan I’ve ever used - everything it was billed as. Heavy, as it is12.5” across and a very thick bottom which gives it excellent heat distribution. We use it to prepare whole meals. Toasted sandwiches, pancakes, meats - all turn out picture-book perfect, evenly browned and perfect. I was a bit concerned about reviews saying the surface started sticking after a year or two. Only had ours 3 months and no problem. I suspect many do not read the instructions that come with it. It specifically says not to use more than a medium-high heat and preferably handwash. The surface contains actual diamond dust and the company didn’t just put that in for the heck of it. We follow those instructions carefully and the pan performs perfectly so far. Handle had the ability to withstand being put in the oven at 500 degrees; this has been a helpful feature in some dishes. The size of the pan took some getting used to but we also got the glass cover and it looks great when on the stove. Very pleased.

great long lasting prodcut
This was a gift for my son and daughter in-law. The purchase price and process were great. I have two of these frying pans. I have had them for over 5 years and they still are great non-stick surface that lasts and lasts. Impressive.

Muy buena calidad.
Excelente calidad. Sigo pensando que podría ser un poco más económico. Pero se ve muy resistente. Espero me dure por muchos años.

Such an amazing pan. Read the instructions and respect them and you’ll be so happy. I’ve never had a no stick pan that actually doesn’t stick. This is amazing

Its an incredible pan! I own a bakery and catering company so I use my pots and pans on a daily basis and there is nothing comparing to its quality. I want to eventually own the whole ensemble.

Quality Non-Stick Fry Pan
I like this Swiss Diamond non-stick fry pan because of its design - it has ergonomic handle and a grasp lip on the opposite side - and I like that it’s made in Switzerland. I also like it’s perfectly designed lid with steam vent. Also I noticed that because of its straight curved edges it has more frying space than my previous 13 inch fry pan of a different brand. I use it for bacon and pancakes and any other frying needs.
