B+W 77mm Master UV Haze MRC Nano 010M Glass Filter

I love B+W filters. I have them on all of my lenses and I've been using them for 30 years. They never seem to change the color rendition and offer very low distortion. The lens coating is fantastic and they last a very long time. They are a bit more expensive than other filters, but they are also of better quality. The glass they use is second to none.

Very well made and minimal in size. These go on my new lenses as soon as they're out of the box. Slapped this on my EF 85mm F1.4L IS lens. Set it and forget it.

I put B&W filters on all my lenses. Great protection and I’ve never observed any image quality loss.

I know that many photographers poo poo filters, especially UV on digital cameras, but I use them primarily for lens protection rather than light filtering. I detect no difference in photo quality, but perhaps there is a slight reduction in glare, especially near water. I have thrown away a few filters after scratching or breaking them while the lens underneath went unscathed. A hundred bucks to save a $2500 lens is absolutely worth it.
